I can't find a thread about replacing the battery in a 550 or 575. It looks like the antifreeze container must come out. Do all the hoses need to be removed? Anything else need to come out?

Taz,

On 1.3 of the owner’s manual (550) it says “Read carefully the brochure supplied with the car, for a correct utilization of the alarm system”. I don’t have that brochure so, not surprisingly, the alarm system has always been a bit of a mystery to me. Can you refer me to a copy of that brochure?

I turned the battery switch “off” but did not disable the alarm system. What kind of trouble am I in?

Nice talking with you again,

Regards,

Phil

Dave, Taz,

I’m replacing the batteries on a 1998 550 and 2004 575. I moved the battery switch on both cars to the OFF position. I’ve been wondering what kinds of problems I’m going to have when I put in the new batteries and turn the switch back ON. I know that there is a learning sequence and I was going to look around FerrariLife, ect to try to find threads that deal with this. Any links would be greatly appreciated. I’ll look to see if I have the radio codes. Both cars need that? I won’t be actually replacing the batteries until next week.

Regards and Thank You!

Phil
