Ferrari engines can certainly last this long. But eventually a rebuild will be required, and this engine is getting pretty close to expecting that. Rebuilding an engine is seriously expensive (ballpark EUR25K for a Colombo V12, modern engines I don't know as not many have been done). This represents a large amount of what the car is worth.

With 10,000 360's built, I think it would be much better to move on.

If I am really honest - it is my mantra that for a modern Ferrari you must buy the very best you can find (and that does not mean the lowest mileage but rather one with regular modest use and a great service record). The higher purchase price will be worth it through lower maintenance cost, and greater pleasure from using it without breaking down. Given that 360's have a fairly narrow band of pricing between worst and best, I would buy the very best. If you can't afford that at the moment, then now is not the time to buy. Save up for a little while. And when you buy, I suggest you make sure you have a bit of cash sitting in the bank. Even the best can break down and give you a serious bill.

You are properly right - it might be the best to move on.
I have actually seen the car at targetcars.eu, they are in holland, maybe you know them.

You might also know that the prices in Europe for a Ferrari 360 is a bit high, especially in Denmark, but that's another story. (180% taxes)

 

I don't have personal knowledge of Target, but I have heard enough stories by friends to know that I would never buy a car there. Let alone a Ferrari.

Taxes are very bad in Denmark, I agree, but I can say, hand-on-heart, that the "cheap" Ferraris are wonderful cars. If I have to sell everything I own and only drive a good 308, I will still be a very happy man. And I would much rather have a good 308 instead of a bad 360.

One more tip: there are a LOT of previously wrecked Ferraris out there, especially 360's (because of their build numbers and age). Total insurance write-offs, chassis "straightened", lick of paint, and flogged on. Caveat emptor!
