Appologies if this has been covered before.

Anyone know the best (cheepest) place (in UK) to get these tyres. I need 2 * 205,70 VR14 for my 308 gt4. Preferably in midlands/south west.

I've looked at some places on-line and they were £228 each !!!. I guess it's due to supply and demand.

I can see from my internet searches (e.g. http://www.blackcircles.com) that there are other tyres of this profile for £70 ish, apart from the non-originality are they any good? Do they look the part or would they look better on a 4x4?

Andy, the 205/70/14 tyre size was a very common one for larger cars from the late 70s+ (Aust is still full of them!). I would have thought that you'd find a range of V-rated models to choose from, and my experience with Michelin is that they really slug you for any older models. (XWX sound cheap compared to TRX!)

Try Pirelli, Avon, Dunlop, Yokis, Bridgestones or Goodyear Eagles for something in 205/70 - they will all handle the load OK if they are speed-rated & load-rated as-per the XWXs. Beyond that it gets down to personal driving style vs each tyre's own characteristics.
