With the launch of the F430 is the 360 dead ?!

Hi there. I just wanted to know what you guys think about the new 430 and how that will impact the 360. Even though the 360 is great, since other car makers are coming out with faster cars (M5, SL65) Ferrari had to step it up. But will this have a negative effect on the 360, or will it not matter.

All comments are welcome. And its my pleasure to have recently joined the forum, topics and discussions are great! :D

My guess it that it will push down prices of 360's for the next couple of years as some owners trade up resulting on more cars coming onto the market.
The 360s will drop in price because it is no longer the newest car, and because some owners will trade them for the 430, so more cars will be on the market. This is now only for the Modena, since the spider version isn't introduced yet.
I wouldn't say the 360 is dead, but of course the F430 is its replacement and it is no secret. 360 production has stopped and only the remaining 360 CS have to be made.

All the V8 Ferraris will come down in price because they are made in such large numbers the exception being the special V8 models like the 360 CS will hold a higher value. The F355 could also take another hit now that it is two generations old.
AHUM andrew

the 360 CS production has ended in the begining of this month
they are still building & selling the 360 Spider and will most likelly still do so for minimum 1 year to maximum 2 years.
and they will still build US versions of the Modena.
since first US versions F430's are expected for July 2005

altough a friend of mine did see a red, yellow & dark blue F430 in Maranello last week

So all 360 CS have left the factory? I don't think so, there aren't anymore in the queue but there are still some on the line being assembled is the way I understood it.

they should all be finished now, production stopped 1st week of september.
if they are all delivered, well that's another question
Do u guys know what the wait is like for the F430? and how much of premium would you have to pay for a spot?

I know a friend of mine sold his spot to buy the bently gt (1 yr wait) for $10k

Nope, we still have 2 more yet to be delivered, maybe sometime in October.
With the arrival of the 430 the 360 will stop to be produced
but the 360 has wrap at the same! 8)

the tecnology is evolving and the performances have to increase car by car...

400cv vs. 490cv....

but the 360 Modena is more than beautiful!

greetings Sangio!

10k for a spot? I'm not sure how these luxury carmakers work, but would the spot be a "downpayment"?

The spot would actually be were you were on the list. Lets say that you placed an order to buy the bently or any other exclusive car. If the quantity being imported every year into a certain country was limited to say 1,000. And your order was placed in at the 100th spot, then you would receive the car according to when that car would be shipped. There fore, for people who can't wait to have that car they will pay a premium for your spot. I hope this helps. :)
Ah well, the rich leads a different lifestyle altogether. :(
The 360 is a legend. You really think it will die out. NO! It may get more rare if they stop making them and cheaper. But it is still a Ferrari and will become a legend like the 250GTO and 365 series and all other older Ferrari's.

It will never even compare with the 250 GTO. It doesn't have a race history, more 360s have been made then any other Ferrari ever.
How can you compare the 250GTO to the 360? :-x
I am jusst saying like the 250. The 360 will be a car worth something in the future. Like the 250 how a lot want it. The 360 will be the same later in the future.

no it won't

the 360's doesn't have the racing history like any 250, and with build figures of at least 8000 cars (they started building in 1999, so lets say 2000 360's a year should be possible) they will never be worth that much.
the only thing it means is that they will get cheaper and maybe afforbable for some of us

The 250's & 275's were the last of the true dual purpose cars. You could drive them on the roads all week and then race them competitively on the weekends. As such (and due to the low numbers built) they will always command a huge premium. The 360 is a great car but it has none of the key attriubutes that make the 250 so highly prized.
