May not be possible I know, but my father (like many of you I’m sure) has been a long-lived Ferrari aficionado. Throughout his career of designing cars, a tour of the Ferrari factory many many years ago gave birth to his life long obsession. Ultimately selling his Dino to fund his business his first major success after was getting a Ferrari back in the garage.

Well here we are many years later (and many children later), and his stable has become Ferrari-less once more. It's been a hard few years- with much of our family in hardship and enduring serious health issues I feel as though his ability to dream the heart pounding, hope giving, ferverous passion of a dream that has made Ferrari so great is fading.

As his son, nothing would make me happier than to give back even a slice of all the wonderment and happiness he has provided us throughout his life. Christmas is coming soon, and I can’t think of a sight any more beautiful than a Ferrari red Enzo wrapped in a big red bow.

Does anyone know of anywhere in California (or the US for that matter), where I can rent my father an Enzo for the day?

Any feedback you guys can provide would be tremendously appreciated. :)

Thanks,

Chad

Chad,

Believe it or not Avis and Hertz out here in LA (Beverly Hills) do rent exotics. As for an Enzo, I don't know. I'd say give them a call. Also give Ferrari of Beverly Hills a call as well. Just tell them that some members of the Ferrari Forum sent you in their direction. Hopefully you'll get hold of someone who'll help you in the right direction.

You might also be able to find one in Germany for rent. This ain't going to be cheap ether way so a few more thousand dollars for a flight to Germany and hotel might be needed in order to make it happen.

I'm very sad to hear about your family and your father. The early 90s and that recession weren't kind to my family either. It's a terrible thing when good, smart, hard working people are put at a disadvantage. There are no guarantees in life. Especially in the economic world. Everyone (especially this current administration) dumps on Social Security and how we should privatize it. But, through personal experience and stories like yours, having something for our elders that isn't tied into the hit and miss economic environment is necessary in my mind.

I hope you're able to find a car to rent and give him such a wonderful gift. Have you thought about an F40 or F50?

Yes there is a place in Germany I believe that rents out an Enzo for a day. I believe it's about $10,000 or $20,000.

I think Dr. Bob provided the URL once before; can't think of it now.

Great, many thanks for the replies.. I did find the place in Germany ($15k/day + million dollar deposit). Unfortunately a

Senna21, I will have to call Avis, Hertz, and Ferrari of Beverly Hills a call come monday - I would assume there is much more of a market for this type of service down that way than up here in northern california. I very much appreciate the reccomendation. In regards to the f40/f50 - I'm sure he would be thrilled with those as well. Based on the rental rates I noticed on the german site it sounds like a different model might be more affordable - I'm only 25. I'm finding it difficult to subtly probe without giving away the surprise entirely! :)

Either way I very much appreciate the warm response, my father has been such a pillar of strength in our family. Never a day passes that I'm not amazed by his courage, fortitude, and compassion. I really hope I can pull things together for this gift!

All my thanks again,

Chad

Absolutely hilarious. We just celebrated our family christmas and it finally came out that pops had seen this post. I hadn't checked back in a while as the $1million deposit broke my bank (many times over). Many thanks to everyone for the help, I now know not to underestimate my dad's tech savy!

Merry christmas!

Yeah he completely got me. Funnier still, as I was trying to subtly probe him for information and he already knew about the whole thing. When it turned out that I couldn't track down a more affordable enzo for him I can only imagine he was laughing hysterically inside watching me come close to telling him about the idea on several occasions.

Crafty guy I tell ya.
