I went to Laguna Seca with Northern California Racing Club last Thursday (February 12). Great event very well organized and met a lot of great people. There were only a couple of Ferraris there including myself there was a race car driver in his 360Challenge that I had the pleasure of following for a brief moment. I say pleasure because right at turn 6 he was blowing by, under breaking downshifted and the throttle blip happened with such a beautiful sound that I almost forgot what I was doing and put big stupid grin on face.
I am signing up with these guys again. There are a few Ferrari owners in the club including the co-founder. They are dedicating the Thunderhill track day on May 28, 2004 as "Bring Out Your Ferrari" day. So, if you are interested go to their website and sign up. I particularly find their website http://www.ncracing.org helpful with lots of information about the track event, track information, rules, regulations and how to prepare. This was my third track event and first with NCRC, I learned so much about what I should focus and myself.
Here's a picture of me taking instructions while coming down the famous corkscrew, Turn 8A. See how the car's suspension is compressed, I learned this is when you go full throttle to exit the turn and amazingly enough if the line is correct the 360 behaves beautifully while in 3rd gear. Really a fun day!
Cheers,
