Newbie here.

I am very interesting in getting a TR.

I live at Long Island NY, and the temperature can get very cold.
I do not have a heated garage... Would this be a total NO NO for owning a TR?

I intend to drive it during summers only.

As long as you don't plan on driving it in the winter you should be fine

Welcome to the site. carguy has a TR and lives in upper Michigan which gets plenty of snow and can give you his advice specific to the TR.

If you keep the car off the salt covered roads during the winter you should be fine. Most people just dis-connect the battery. Pete who lives in Maine also has good storage tips for winter.

Certainly don't let this keep you from getting the car. Good luck in your search and let us know how it turns out.

I'm up in northern Alberta, Canada, and just bought my first TR. My garage, also, is unheated, but I think as long as I store it properly and either keep a trickle charge on the battery or store it indoors, I should be fine.

My recomemndation would be to keep it on a trickle charger and then use it on nice winter days (i.e no snow, no salt). If you run it a few times over the winter, you will have a much happier TR than one which has just sat for 4-5 months. It seems that when Ferraris sit, that is when things start to go wrong.

If the garage is heated or not, should not make much of a difference.
