Well, Dirk had one, adlinyusman had one, and Bob had one so now it's my turn!
I just found out the dealer I go to most has a 612 in stock right now. I have already confirmed it with them and have an appointment to see it tomorrow! Heck yeah I'm taking my camera!

Excellent - tomorrow will be a good day!

Can't wait to see the pics - I need to call the main Ferrari importer here, to see if/when they're getting one.[/u]

I'm constantly amazed how you guys get around the dealers! Do they think you are seriously looking to buy, or are they happy to make an appointment for you just to wander around & take pictures, knowing that ONE DAY you will be a customer?

I have only gone to showrooms when "new car time" comes around, and would have thought that exotic dealers wouldn't want non-buyers bothering them all the time, and so I have gone to the motor shows instead. I can see I must get out more!

I can answer that in 2 ways - pre purchase and post purchase - so I'll do the easy one first.

Post purchase

Turn up in a Ferrari - they'll let you do what you like!!! This is something I intend to make use of (to get some test drives!!) this summer!!

Pre purchase

I wondered about this when I first started looking - whether they'd just ignore me, or even worse chuck me out!! I'd make sure I was looking tidy, make sure I'd had a shave etc etc. I just didn't know what to expect.

But to be honest, the vast majority don't care. I'd always make sure I let them know exactly what I was looking for, before I started wandering around, and to be honest every single one was fine. One of the dealers did tell me that I'd be ignored in a particular dealer, if I turned up dressed as I was - so I fully intend to go there in the Ferrari this summer dressed as scruffily as I can!!!

Of course most of the dealer showrooms are quite quiet compared with a mainstream brand, so it's hard to be ignored, but I got a far better reception and level of service than I would expect (through experience) in a BMW/Mercedes dealer. They can be really pompous - which I find absolutely hilarious. Of course, if I turned up at a BMW dealer in the Ferrari - they'd probably lay out a red carpet!!!

The dealers I go to love to have me come in and take pics because they know I post them online and tell who has it for sale. Free publicity for them and lots of pics for me. Works out to benefit us both.

when you see the 612 tomorrow, make sure to take tons of pics, and especially one of the vinnumber, on the 612 it's located in the front window at the drivers side near the A-pillar

that actually reminds me
need to send an e-mail to the garage aswell, to ask when they are finally willing to show the 612, they weren't allowed to show theirs till at least after the Geneva Show

I'm sure it'll be the Rubyno (Mettalic red) car that has been going around the Ferrari showrooms all over the world. It was in our dealer's showroom in January, that's when Adlyn saw it.

Do post the photos, I'm curious.

I want that VIN number!!!

and about those dealers, it really depends on the dealer. Some love cars, and like it when a kid walks in just photographing and respecting the cars. saturday I walked into a dealership for the first timethere. I recognized the owner of the place, and he started talking to me, and let me run photograph as many as I wanted. Also writing s/n was no problem at all. When you do it at some others they ask you not to photograph the plates (how do you photograph a car without the plates???) and when you get your pen and pencil to write s/n they look at you like you are a demon or something.

Seven ask you to leave. I don't know what it is. I know some visitors are peopel who go sit in the cars, make fingerprints and all, without even asking. I never touch the cars, I just admire and take photographs. So I guess other peopel are ruïning it for me. And offcourse some dealers are just big ***holes

I could help you big time if you were in KL. The dealer's showroom/workshop is a 2nd home for me. We hang out there at least 2 evenings a week and certainly on Saturday afternoons. I could sit in any car, take picture, open the engine, the boot or whatever. I have had the chance to drive all the cars that came there as demos. A Bentley Arnage T, Bentley Le Mans, Rolls Royce Camargue, Maseratis but never a Ferrari because they're pre-ordered by the customer. Besides the only current Ferrari that I haven't driven is the Enzo. There's one there being stored for the owner, who's a close friend of mine. But he's still very. very stingy with his Enzo. :green:

I plan on snapping a pic of every VIN of every Ferrari they have there. They have never given me any grief about it before. Also, when I do sit in one, I empty my pockets onto the salesmens desk so my keys do not accidently poke a hole in the interior.

I have also been promised that one day when the Sales Manager is away, I will be allowed to ride in one even though he knows I will not be buying anytime soon.

The 612 isn't for sale yet, or is it? I thought they weren't for sale until summer. Or is it just a dealer show car?
I think it's the same show car that's going around the world. It's metallic red. We'll know when the photo is poted, if it's the same one.

Yes the 612 will only be on sale in late summer. The 2 units that will arrive in KL will be in Sept/Oct.

Sounds great! Can't wait to see the pictures!!! Enjoy yourself there!

I'll have to call up Ferrari of SF and see if and when they're getting a 612 in and that next batch of 360 Stradales that I was told about last time I visited. I want to see one in another colour besides Rosso Scuderia, not that it's a bad colour or anything, but I would like to see one maybe in Nero or something. I've seen pics, but I want to see one in the flesh, in Nero.

The dealer is pretty cool with me, kind of like in Bob's case. They all recognize me and stuff now and I'm free to look around and take pictures. I just have to ask to sit in a car, but that's fine with me.

if it is rubyno then it's the same one which i've been inside, twice. :)

Once during the KL premiere and another in Melbourne. The interior's really nice but nothing spectacular. Just a cool lcd screen to oogle at (the pracing horse rotates in around a 3D orbit...funky). Not to rain on your parade man,

knock yourself out and take LOTS and LOTS of photos!! (especially if it's not in rubyno..hope it's in rosso corsa or rosso anything!)
