There's a new Chimp in town

You might recall a posting about a neighbor buddy of mine who traveled w/me all the way to FoW (~160 mi RT) only to be blown off when asked to view and test drive a F360? We showed up in my 360 and the sales staff was down right rude and could care less about selling a car

Well, Dudley finally pulled the trigger last week. Dudley bought a 2000 blue/tan 360 6-speed. He plans to join us at the Warbirds & Ferraris event July 10 in Culpeper VA.

Fellow Chimps will like him - young, nice guy, unassuming, family man. His only vice? He played lacrosse for Hopkins.

Here's a couple of pics in my driveway/street

360 nomenclature

Yes, a very rare blue/tan F360 with Tubi no less. Sounds great too.
Wetpet is pulling your leg Al. There is no F360. Only 360 Modena and 360F1, and of course Challenge, Spider, and Challenge Stradale.
Josh, Where in San Diego did your roots grow?? I was staioned there for 15 years and lived in La Jolla, up near the campus.
I tried a few different areas of the county during the decade I was there. The first half I spent around Tierra Santa...the second half in Oceanside.

La Jolla was a great place to hang out, nothing like the cove for a beach scene. Chicks always liked the Seal beach also, haha.

I like the fresh scene that Ferrari Life is presenting, I'm stoked to make a contribution to the site. The guys that run it are top notch as well.

It's important to have Dealers close enough to make people comfortable with buying these cars, but it's sad that they paint themselves into a corner and hold their noses up so high.
Because I know he won't toot his own horn, ECS Josh got his training at one of the most highly regarded Ferrari restoration shops in this hemisphere; Wayne Obry's Motion Products in WI.

Last night Ed was pulling the sheets and tailing. :yikes:

We are indeed blessed to have some highly talented service techs in the area. Good to know of another besides Richard and Fernando at Competizione. They all make Enzo proud and are highly valued by all of us, I'm sure.
Thanks Bryan, I've been extremely fortunate and have had many great opportunities to be properly educated during my career...all of which I'm very thankful for.

From what I have seen thus far we as businesses in the MAR are just as fortunate to work with car owners whom are extremely serious about these cars. The commitment Dudley had to getting his 360 is great, and it looks like he got a car worth working for as well.

I've seen more than one person give up on buying a Ferrari after a bad dealer experience and go elsewhere. The Tubi on a 360 does sound great.

You can count me as one of those persons.

I'm sure you don't intend to catsigate ALL dealers. I had a great experience with Ferrari of Denver. Amazingly great service before and after the sale.

If I'm not mistaken, Toggie also had a pleasant experience with Algar.

Not all dealers take stupid pills.

If you are in town, can we count on you coming to Church services this Sunday??? It sure would be great to see you again!

Certainly not. Unfortunately customer service is a bit of a black art and as human beings we can't be 100% correct every time, some are wrong more often than others.

Not to mention hiring people to operate and represent your business on your behalf is extraordinarily difficult. Because owning these cars is a choice people are much more passionate about than buying a BMW or Benz the interaction is considerably more critical and both parties are much more sensitive to the experience.

I personally have had great experience working with Ferrari of San Francisco as a vendor and use them when I need that sort of source.
What plagues most dealerships exotic or domestic is the bottom dollar focus and mentality pumped into so many employees. That's why so many dealerships are good at selling you a car and that's about it.

Al, is that your neighborhood in the pics? What happened across the street? Teardown?

Yes, new guy paid $1MM to tear down the house across the street and built a McMansion in its place. Now he's asking $2.9MM for the house. Did a great job, esp. with the terraced backyard, new pier and boat lifts.
Al, Did you ever try to get your parts from FOW?
Dudley, good meeting you this morning at the Donut. Your car is beautiful. Sorry you and Al headed out early -- we had a nice drive afterwards.

Dudley - good to meet you, I'm sure I'll see you soon with so many great events in the area coupled with a long driving season!

Eric - thanks for leading a great post- Le Donut drive through some very nice country roads, having 4 cars was good, easy to keep everyone together, we had a 348, 355, Diablo and Viper, good seeing you all out there.

LOL - that's hilarious.

Are you kidding?

I called and asked 2x, left a message and never got a callback.

I suspect they installed them on another car, or sold them, or still have them in storage, or put the parts in their circular file? Maybe turned them into a boat anchor? Who knows?

:wosgeschenk22:
They could be sitting next to the part that took 3 weeks to get from New Jersey that I asked for.

Got it in 3 days from the west coast though. I wonder if my last 3 pairs of socks are on the same shelf?

Absolutely not. I called the local Ferrari dealer and from the moment the conversation started, it was down hill until I decided to go elsewhere.

I have been out of town and not a chance to get to the Church. Plus, having the Great Falls weekly gathering on saturdays and 5 minutes from my house makes it difficult to do 2 back to back. :yikes:

I plan on attending church soon, just not sure which date.
