I don't know how many model collectors there are on this forum but here is a question for those that do.
Does your collection have a theme?
I started collecting 1/18 scale models.
Problem - too big to display. I still have the models but they are boxed in the attic.
I changed to 1/43 scale - three cabinets - one for road, one for sports, one for F1.
Problem - too many models available, not impossible to collect them all, but impractical.
I have now tried to theme my collection.
I still have my F1 cabinet - one car from each year plus some variations.
I am trying to collect one example of each 250 GTO - easy only 39 models plus prototypes.
My last theme is cars from Le Mans. I have based my collection on the book - Ferraris at Le Mans by Dominic Pascal - there are some errors, but it a good starting point. So far I have collected about 90 examples.
Problem - what do I do with the road and sports cars which are not in my themed collection. I haven't the heart to get rid of them.
