I appreciate everyone's help and advise on vintage 2+2's. I have narrowed my choices down to either a 330 GT 2+2 SII or a 365 GT 2+2. My plan is to now begin the search for the right car at the right price. Periodically I will post updates on progress. Plan is to get a driver, in good condition, which should need not much more than regular servcing over the next several years. Hope to have the car in my garage by next summer. Any and all advise on where to start looking (either Europe or North America) would be appreciated. :work:

Okay, I am not sure if you prefer a RHD car, but I would suggest that in the UK you keep an eye out at Paul Baber in central London if I am not mistaking or maybe Talacrest in Egham.

There is a 330 GT 2+2 series I for sale at Almere Classic Cars in Almere, which is near Amsterdam. (do not know their website from memory)

Near Rotterdam Van Vliet is located in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. There is a grey 365 GT for sale there (see www.vanvliet.nl)

Also check www.historicmotoring.com. They sometimes have that kind of cars, now they are offering 330 GTCs and a 250 GTE project car.

And VSOC is indeed a good location to check regularly. They often have classic Ferraris for sale.

That is about it I think for the moment. You can also check www.autotrader.nl and www.autotelegraaf.nl where you can search the paper ads in the Netherlands.

Good luck,

Niels, Thank you for all the advise. As the car will be mostly used on the continent, I would prefer LHD but am open to either. In terms of color, I think the 2+2's do look better in the darker colors, but I do not have a specific preference. I will check the sites listed and let you know if I find anything.

The 365 GT at Van Vliet is grey with black interior (s/n 11209) and looks nice at first glance. I have seen it last week, since the dealer is about 15 minutes away from me!

250ml, This actually sounds like a 365 GT 2+2 that I looked at in the Netherlands about 18 months ago. I think it was a 69 model that was imported into the Netherlands 4-5 years ago. I will check my log and let you know. If it is, the body and engine are in good condition but not perfect. Interior is good but not everything works (AC, and some of the other equipment need work). The major issue with this car was the 2nd gear syncromesh was gone and would likely need both a gearbox rebuild and new clutch. Asking price at the time was in the high 40's (Euros).

sorry, no pics, but check www.vanvliet.nl and you will find it there. Plates are AE-43-15 btw. Could be thtat it is the same car. I think I saw it in at Dreissen cars (does not exist anymore) 5 years ago and it is an ex-France car as far as I know. The plate cant help identifying with the year it was imported as normally is possible here since this series of plates is especially made for classic cars and does not directly shows the year it was issued. Where did you check this or maybe that other car?

Do not know exactly but I thought it was around high sixties! But then again, I am not sure!! If so, they might have replaced some components?? Where did you check it out?
