That Kit Car

Well, it happened again. Yesterday I was polishing the Ferrari and noticed that the engine lid doesn't stay up on its own anymore. I need new lift supports. No one in the area has any listings for Ferraris but I remember seeing one of the local discount auto parts stores had a large selection. So I take one off and I'm going to just try and match one up. I go down and find one that is close enough to warrant trying so I go to buy it. Just to make sure, I ask the assistant manager if I can return it if it doesn't fit. He says, "Yeah, no problem but why wouldn't it fit? What's it for?"

Now mind you, this is a bright red 308 GTS, the license plate says "FERRARI", it has a Ferrari Forum sticker in the back window and I'm standing in front of the guy wearing a Ferrari T-shirt. In response to his question I say, "Well, you wouldn't have a listing for my car." and I point out the window. He says, "Oh, that kit car out there? Yeah, we wouldn't have any listing for that." I just looked up at the guy and said, "Didn't think so."

"Education is the key. Be smarter than everyone else." - Bart

I think Barts words speak true for that situation as well my friend...
I lot of times when I read Bart's posts I just sit there and think, "Man he must be drunker than I am." But some of his one liners are pure classic. He's got some good stuff.

No, the lift support didn't fit my car or that guy. But I was able to contact the manufacturer and order the correct ones (they happen to be the original supplier for Ferrari). $50 each.

It's my attic. I don't have the luxury of a basement. The only way I can afford a F-car is by eating MREs and bathing once a week. Sacrifice my boy. Sacrifice! 8)

BTW, I thought dat "Kit" car was da thang dat tall dude drove 'round in dat show "knight rider." :green:

:green: :green: :green: Sacrifices must be made! You don't have to sacrifice the boy though, you can save a LOT of money if you get maximum use out of the daipers. Most people throw them away the moment they have been soiled. But if you look on the box you'll see where it clearly says "up to 40 lbs."
LMAO! Too funny, my man. Too funny. :D D
