For the second time in its life my 1986 Testarossa is in need of coolant filler/overflow tank.

I am somewhat annoyed at the price of the new one being more $ 1,200 Aus money.

My options are:

1. Buy another from Ferrari and wait another five years for the
same thing to happen again.

2. Find a better priced source for an "original".

3. Have something fabricated in alluminium.

4. Look for a plastic alternative.

Any advice on this matter would be appreciated.

And, just a further note, I have had the same problem on both my 348 (now departed) and my Mondial T cab.

Is there a suitable and viable alternative?

Hi Beerman,
If you look on " www. POR15.com " they make a gastank sealing kit that will do the job it will seal pinhole's and stop rusting.
I did not used this by my own car, but I ask around for you.
But for my opinion option no 3 is the best, because you have already used three cooland tanks.
So I think that now its time to order one tank of a good material and use a mix of 50/50 antifreeze and distilled water or use longlife coolant .hope this will help.308ROB
