look what's up for sale :green:
http://www.treas.gov/auctions/irs/phaz_anti_655.htm

and this line is very funny:
the property described below has been seized for nonpayment of internal revenue taxes due from Taxpayer
so the guy can afford a P4, but not to pay his taxes??

altough i do preffer this car in it's first form as a berlinetta
it sure has a better & longer racing history as a barchetta
and i sure would love to see it back out on the track

even still, it's still an incredible low price for a real P4 with a very good racing history

and while we are at the subject, perhaps lets start posting some racing shots from back in the day?  :green:

i also have on this car
it started as a 330 P4 Berlinetta in 1967
then halfway 67 transformed into a 330 P4/CanAm Barchetta
and then in 68 to a 350 P4/CA
and that's its currect bodywork

i do have all the technical stuff here
but what was the reason for this?
also is it now then a 350 or 330??

At first 0858 was a 330 Can Am then it was bored out to a 350.
IMO sadly as this car hasn't been used in years from what I've been told it's chassis and engine are rotted and restoring it to running condition would be very difficult without replacing much of it and then what would you be left with?

Have you seen the car in person Jim?

so basically it would need a whole new engine, and a very, slowly & expensive restoration
Not for a while but someone who was there on the day has and reported to me.

Remember the oil and water run through the chassis in these cars so if they are rusted it can be a HUGE job to repair them.

As for the motor I was told that it is leaking water internally which is also IMO a huge problem.

Even pieces of history need to be used. If they aren't IMO they no longer exist and can reach the point where they can never be used again without replacing vast parts of them.

what a shame of such a great car

i still don't get it why certain people get such cars and then don't bother maintaining her, or even driving her

ok, not driving i MIGHT understand, i would also already be happy with having such a beauty in my garage and just look at her, but i would at least make sure that she would be in running order
