Yesterday, as it was quite dry/warm, my wife was helping her sister sort her garden out. So it was a very good time for me to escape... :green:
Decided to go for a little drive down to Maranello Sales, which is the dealership of the UK Ferrari importer. It's not actually that far from me, but for some reason, I'd never been before.
I expected a really nice showroom, dripping with Ferraris - and I wasn't disappointed!!
Outside there was a selection of 456,550 and 575s - very nice indeed.
Inside there was an extremely clean 328, a very nice 355 Berlinetta and a stack of 360s - Modenas, Spyders and Stradales.
But to be honest - it didn't blow me away. It was almost too clean - I know that sounds mad - but the place was spotless. It was almost like walking into a private collection, not a garage. The cars seemed dead.
Had a brief chat with the guy there, and he told me that they're not getting a 612 until July - which is bloody ages!!!
Anyway - popped round the corner to Talacrest (one of my favourite dealerships) to have a gaze through the window. They're closed on Sundays. Much more like it!!
The Porsche GT1 I posted a couple of weeks ago was in the front window - not sure why, but it looks HUGE!! Actually, it looks really mean too - but for £385,000 it should look pretty good!
They had a nice silver 512BB, a couple of 355s, 348, 328 in black (v nice) and a 1990 Testarossa.
As some of you will remember, that's what I spent most of last year looking for - and since I bought the 348, I've not seen one. I STILL REALLY WANT ONE!!
I absolutely love my 348 - it's an absolute riot to drive, it's so gorgeous it makes me smile every time I open the garage - but the Testarossa just makes me go weak!!! It's got such amazing presence - even standing still on the other side of a window!! I just know I'm not going to be truly satisfied until I've got one. It'll probably ruin me, financially - but I don't care - I have to have one!!! Unfortunately, my wife would divorce me if I changed it this year - so I know it'll have to wait - but as God is my witness, I'm bloody having one eventually!!!
There - I've admitted it. It's still under my skin!!! :green: [/u]
