It's a similar story here in the UK for me - all vehicles over 3 years old have to have an MOT (no idea what that stands for) certificate.

Of course, it's illegal to have a race can on the bike, it's also illegal to have a smaller than the regulations licence place etc.

So each year I've needed to do it (which I won't for a while as my current bike is only a few months old) I turn up with the standard can and the right licence plate, say "Do you really want me to put these on for the half hour it's going to take you to do this?"

They always say "No, don't bother" - and everyone's happy!! It's such a pain though!!

Glad to hear you didn't start drilling holes in your car though!! That really WOULD be a tragedy.

I'm so jealous that you don't have to have a front licence plate - here in the UK it's compulsory. Cars look so much better without them though.
