Southeast Asian Ferrari market - how big

2207 Views 15 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Andrew
We have a larger number of Asia owners than most realize so I'm wondering how big is this market? Excluding Japan as I'm on familiar grounds with Japan (7 Enzos and counting).

For Ferrari Forum we have members in:

Hong Kong
Seoul
Malayasia (KL)
Singapore
Japan

What about Bangkok, Shanghi (and the rest of China outside HK)? What else is missing and how big is this market? I'm guessing Cambodia and Vietnam don't have any?

Having been in Viet Nam I can tell you that I don't think there is a stretch of road in the whole country where you would feel comfortable exceeding 50 mph. Not a very Ferrari friendly landscape. It's Jeep country. Even in the cities wou would be better off with a bicycle or scooter rather than a Ferrari.

China has some decent highways but I have never heard from any Chinese Ferrari owners (Hong Kong excepted).

I believe Beijing now has a few. I remember reading an article on it in the Asian edition of I believe Time magazine.
Enzos - 4 in KL and 3 in Singapore

3 in KL delivered and 2 in Singapore delivered as well.
Hong Kong dealer also sells in China and plans to eventually move its headquarters to China. In fact it will launch the new 612 on June 6th at the Shanghai F1 track.
China's only launching the Scaglietti in June? I thought it went for a world tour?
I'll show ferraris in Korea and one modena of them was broken by a drunken dealer while back up, and then hit electric pole. simultaneously eletric wire touched the car, resulting the fire. After that he was sued and another one by accident. In Korea, two or three Enzos already came in as below seen, those were purchased by wealthy conglomerateers. the other pic was taken in the custom by a brave customer. i think there are over 15 modena at least with many other ferraris like 355/maranello/348ts or old things. but unfortunately they are all seperated and is included in a individual small auto society with mixed other cars, On the other hand, as you know big ferrari gathering been in japan. i envy

This guy is a famous soccer player. he is in italy now .it is refered after finished contract he would like to import his baby into Korea.

On sale

On the way to be imported

The 355 owner is still finding the a certain witness at the accident because the exact truth of accident is being driven into corner due to their contrary statement between 355 owner and opposite driver.

on the way to be checked by customer.

another shot

I am sorry not to say hello in a firt my post.
I am a architect /31/male/audi a4/ and like talking about car, especially ferrari and Mclaren F1,additionally about the real owner's feel, how to manage their car. Because the mind of most owners are not opened to the public in Korea so there are not any chance to talk about ferrari.
Anyway i'm happy to join this forum with yours.

But i wonder if only ferrari owner could come in this forum. Because before joining here, i sent e-mail to administor Andrew for the reason of priviate question. In a his relpy, he said " are you ferrari owner?".
Hi and welcome here. You do not have to have a Ferrari to join here, I guess Andrew was just curious. Your pics do not seem to work, atleast not for me.

If you want to discuss with owners, there are lots of them here. This place is a well of information.

Welcome!! Of course you can call him Bob! I'm Pete. What's your name? You don't have to be a owner to post or to be welcome on this forum. You said it best when you said you like to talk about cars, especially Ferrari. This is the place for you! Feel free to post a pic of your Audi in the garage section for comments. Heck, I've even posted a picture of my truck. We like all automotive topics and even discuss many non-automotive related things. This is a place for the Ferrari enthusiast as well as the owner. People that enjoy Ferraris enjoy many other things as well and we discuss those too. We are an international forum as well. People from all around the world gather here to share common interests. There is no politics or bad mouthing. (Well, maybe some good natured ribbing). Everyone is real friendly and good natured.

I see it has been a few months between the time you registered and your first post. Don't be shy! I have spent a lot of time in South Korea so if you want to discuss South Korea go ahead and make a post in the general section. If you look at the topics we have had about the Netherlands you will see we had a lot of fun and we all learned a lot.

As some of the other guys have said, it's nice to have some members from other parts of the world! Welcome agian!
glad to see you post on the site, welcome to Ferrari Forum. We have a great community of people here and I think you'll like it.
