Can someone clear this up for me, before I embarrass myself in educated company - is 355 supposed to be pronouced three fifty five, or three five five? Three-sixty I'll take as a given. Four fifty six? four five six? Three forty eight? Three four eight? Consensus please!

Thanks!

well in europe they say three fifty five
Dirk,

That may be the case in continental Europe - but in the UK it's three five five.

As for the others - four five six, three four eight, five seven five etc.

I'm curious about this now - as I'd never even considered that anyone could call a 355 - three fifty five!!

I obviously don't get out enough!! :green:

Me personally, I have always said number by number; ie, three five five.
If it ends in a zero then I say it as the tenth; as is three sixty or three thirty P four.
That's my prefrence though.

What I've always heard for spoken names of the Ferrari models:

Ferrari 355 Berlinetta: Ferrari three five five Berlinetta
Ferrari 360 Modena: Ferrari three sixty Modena
Ferrari 456 GTA: Ferrari four five six GTA
Ferrari 550 Maranello: Ferrari five fifty Maranello
Ferrari 575M: Ferrari five seven five M
Ferrari F-50: Ferrari F fifty

**There are exceptions to the rule....Ferrari 328 GTB could probably be said two ways along with a bunch of other models.

Yes this is absolutely correct.
You will also notice if there isn't a zero in the name, we say each individual number. That's because saying 'zero' or 'Oh' would sound stupid. "Hi there, I own a Ferrari five five oh"

That's how we say it too, in my part of the world. :D

Personally, I call a 308 a three oh eight and a 328 a three twenty eight.

I have always referred to the 575 as a five seventy five and no one has ever looked at me funny (at least not for that reason).

How about "trecento cinquanta cinque"? (355 in italian) ;-)
Ah very good point. Is this how they say it?

Thinking about myself I always say the first number and then the second two together for everything. The one exception for me seems to be the 355, I always say three, five, five. Oh and three O eight. The rest are two fifty, three seventy five, four fifty six, three forty eights. I guess because the double 5 I say 5, 5.
