Welcome Chocodip
and congrats on your new purchase, i hope you have a wonderfull time as a Ferrari owner

about the clutch, this has been mentioned once before a long time ago, i'm not an owner myself so i can't speak from experience.
but i remember that was said that it's best that you let the clutch come up fully and not a bit to crawl forward a bit, and everytime that you need to stop again make sure to place it back in neutral

Guess you've just made a case for the inadequacy of F1 boxes for bumper to bumper crawling trafic, at least it's my opinion.

Be aware that your car is NOT an automatic with a torque converter. It does have a friction clutch: when the clutch slips, it wears out and heats up.

Try to minimize the time when the clutch is slipping by leaving enough space with the car in front, actuate the throttle gently so that the clutch sticks in 1st and then crawl gently at 1000 to 1500 rpm as long as you can.
Put it back in N if you have extended time without moving.

If you have to cope with heavy trafic, maybe you should use another car or consider switching to a conventional stick shift Ferrari.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the new 360. There really isn't much you can do about this. If you are moving at a slow crawl try to give it enough gas quickly to engage the gear fully then coast and pop it into N as you slow back down. Like the above post, you'll need a little room in front of you for that.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the club.

The 1999 360s use the earlier gearbox ECU which were upgraded in mid-2000. But it's only a slight improvement. You can get the upgrade for around US900. The best thing to do in a traffic jam is to put your box to "N" everytime you stop. That will (hopefully) delay the heating of the clutch. :-?

The current ECUs used on the Enzo and the Stradale are much, much better.

I am afraid this sounds like a very, very bad idea, can't believe how a dealer could give such advice, if not to make money on your back.
If you put the slippery surface program on, the car will start in 2nd by default (you can override that), the clutch will slip furthermore, and heat up even faster.
To prevent your clutch from heating, you must limit slippage, not increase it !

The workshop guys don't own 360s, so they don't know what living with a 360 is like. You can listen to them on what to repair when things go wrong but what do they know about the troubles of owning a 360. Wrong people to ask for advise bro.
