Pix out by Malin, Or...about 25 mi ne of Redrock but lay of the land is simillar. My 60mi Sunday drive is around this uncongested area. Only thing moving are the deer and uh hopefully TR.

Hi Terry. Both you and your dad lucky to have flown all those aircraft. Took my son to get some dual in Stallion 51's TF in 98. Did 6 hrs total which included lots of unusual attitude stick buzzing departure stuff. Spins both ways. Excellent education for him. Try it...you'l like it. Like the Joe Montana pigskin interior idea. Perhaps Crall can set that one up. Ckeck 6

Hi, Greg - 16470 isn't the serial number, it's the assembly number; your car's serial number is 99445. I saw this car nearly three years ago in New York when it had 24,734 miles. It was just on eBay back in July, for sale through EuroSpeed Imports in San Francisco - is that where you purchased it?[/QUOTE]
My mistake on the s/n, still learning my way around these cars. But as a first ferrari I am in love with this car! Yes it is the same car you saw on ebay from SF... Love the car but still trying to track down the prior service records. Any info on how to go about that would be greatly appreciated since you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge on various Ferraris in this thread.

Greg- Actually, you did great because Carbon and I usually have to show someone where the Assembly Number is and you found it right away. Parts upgrades are usually done by Assembly Number in the parts catalogs, so AN is a very handy number to know.

Greg- Now you can memorize both your serial number (last six of VIN) and assembly number and be one up on about 90% of Ferrari owners who have no clue what their assembly number is or what it represents. The assembly number is simply the order in which it hit the assembly line. Serial numbers are part of the ordering process, but when the car hits the assembly line, it is assigned an assembly number. The car in front of it has one assembly number lower and the one behind one higher. The one in front may have a much higher serial number or one much lower. The two are independent and depend on what kind of special parts, paint, etc may have slowed down a car reaching the assembly line. Ferrari also plays with its orders and may speed up production of one model because of customer demand. Those cars would have earlier assembly numbers than the cars they delayed because of poorer demand, even though the delayed cars had lower serial numbers.

There are some great forestry service roads between Burney and Red Rock. The roads are quite good and except for deer season no one out there.

Pictures of my car, chassis 37313, after it was crashed in 2007. Sadly, the previous owner didn't have any pictures of it before the accident. Note: This is not how I bought the car, the previous owner did use many of the parts for another car.
I'll create another topic for the project as it moves forward ;-)

By the way, is there any way I can dig further into the car's history? Like get to know who was it's first owner, that sort of thing? I did get a VIN check, but the information wasn't very specific.

All I know is that it was offered for sale by David Dupont of Dover, NH, in 1990: black with tan interior, nice interior, weak paint, 29,000 miles; he had it for sale again in 1991.
Beautiful Boxer! Can you tell us anything about it? How long you've had it? Where it was before you took ownership? How many miles (or kilometers)? Is it restored, or is that its original condition?
Honestly, driving them is a lot more fun than collecting their numbers - so while it's important to know the serial numbers and assembly numbers and engine numbers and dates of production (etc., etc., etc.) - it's just so much more fun to get in and go!
Until that day comes though, I'll just collect the information.
As for your car, this is what I have for its history...
In 1998, Wide World of Cars of Spring Valley had it for sale with 9,862 miles; red with tan leather, two owners, bought and serviced at and by WWoC. They had it for sale again in 1999.
Then in October, 2008, it showed up in eBay, located in Locust Valley, NY, with 24,000 miles; red/tan, starting bid was $56,000.
I saw the car personally on 20 February 2009: Rosso Corsa FER 300/12 with tan leather, tan carpets, tan leather tonneau, 24,734 miles, World Class Autos license plate frame. The car had books, but no warranty card.
In July, 2011, it showed up on eBay again through EuroSpeed Imports of San Francisco, with 26,156 miles. I'm guessing that's when you bought it.

Congratulations, Nic! When did you get it? Someone else asked me about this car back in January when it was for sale through, I believe, Richard Purcell of West Coast Luxury. Here's what I have on it...
In November, 2006, it was for sale through Steve Harris Imports; black with black leather, Daytona seats, shields, modular wheels, Tubi, 9,700 miles.
Then Luxury Motors of Las Vegas had it for sale in August, 2007, with six more miles - starting bid was $140K!
Then, in June of last year, it was for sale on eBay through a private seller in Branson, MO, with yellow calipers and 12,500 miles. The same seller still had it on eBay in September; the pictures in the auction showed clear bra, a built-in Passport radar detector and a two-car garage in the background featuring a black Mercedes and a red Bentley. The car was advertised with all books, book case, tools and service records.
I hope all that stuff made it to you now that you're the new owner.

Nice! Are you in Canada? When was this car in France? It's been in the US since the early '80s. It was red with Boxer trim since the early '80s and wasn't repainted yellow until the late '90s/early 2000s.
