Ps. This photo is from a Mondial. Perhaps BBS had a different shaped plate made ? RHi there.
Just a note (after a few years of this thread). I totally agree with the dual needing the “eur20mclx” to be Ferrari original. However I’m not so sure about the Facia plate being a different shape. Yes the Ferrari one is black, with the logo and reads “Bal” rather than “Balance”. However the plate shape on all the old originals I’ve seen is the same as the normal Ke-4300. The one in your photo shows the stereo sitting centrally. However the others I’ve seen the stereo sits lower on the face plate. Plus the face plate that less rounded edges - which is a pain as they are likely to chip when the radio is removed for servicing and to have the band changed. Anyway, I may be wrong and Ferrari may have made different models. The Black original plastic in these very old stereos tends to not look jet black and perfect. HiHi All, it is about time my 1979 Boxer got a correct period radio cassette player. It seems a bit incongruous given that I never use the sound systems in any of these old cars - they make their own wonderful music IMO. I understand from Paul's great posts that the Pioneer KE 4300 (without graphic equaliser) is correct for this particular car. I would be grateful for any contacts that might enable me to track one down for a reasonable price.
Best wishes, Sean

Hi there
Sorry to sound like an old record player.
However I think the Ferrari BB Stereos Fitted were very, very unique.
They were.
1. KE-4300B (B stands for Belgium … not Japan). They say made in Belgium on them. Including the literature.
2. The Ferrari logo is printed into the plastic - not a “sticker”.
3. The tuning dials have 3 rows of numbers. LW , FM and MW.
4. The bottom row of the tuning numbers has “FRI EUR MC LUX”. It is believed that this may mean ….. “Ferrari European Music Luxury”.
5. The writing on the front says “push radio pull ball”. ie “BAL not Balance”.
I have a collection of radios. I had a very nice one of these on eBay recently- however I ended up swapping it with a Ferrari restorer for alloys.
I may have a couple more - but possibly not as perfect.
(They may need a service, the radio restored or the cassette restored. Although all the other items … see above …. Are correct).
If I get a moment this weekend I’ll have a look/test and place one on eBay.
Should there be any flaws - I’ll list them.
Cheers R
