After 4 Porsche 911's this is my first Ferrari and it is an amaaaaazing car! :p Ferrari red with a black leather interior.
I'll post some pictures very soon!

At this moment the car has Pirelli Pzero tyres which need replacement pretty soon (< 2.5 mm) Any advice on which tyres I should use?
I can get the Michelin Pilot Sport. Any experiences with these?

From what I've heard Dunlap (Dunlop?) are suppose to make good performance tires. I'm not sure how their Z rated tyres are but check those out. I don't have personal experience with them but my brother did and he said they were excellent. Michellin of course are very good too.
I don't own a Ferrari, but my Lancia has Pirelli 'shoes' :) So I would stay with Pirelli, nice Italian tyres!
Recently spoke to a 308 owner who preferred the Michelins on his car.

Congrats on your purchase Erik
i hope you will have a great time with the car

aren't the Pirelli's the factory tires for the car?
I've got the Firestone Firehawks and I like them a lot. Smooth, quiet and quite a bit of grip. When these wear out I will probably get another set.
Eric, congradulations on the car. If you don't mind me asking, is this the 95 the was located in San Diego?
Hi, I bought this car in the Netherlands near Amsterdam. The car has all the maintenance history fully documented and is an original Dutch car. The interior and outside of the car are very nice. This in contrary to the San Diego car I read about. Before you buy any Ferrari it is very adviceable to let an expert do a complete check of the car. I found someone who spent 3 hours on this inspection. His advice was very positive, no more doubts!! 8)

Hope to see it one day. Love to have a picture of it.

Sorry, wrong post on the wrong topic ;-0

I preach for Bridge Expedia S01, although I did not try anything else on THIS car. I am not sure about the relevance of comments based on experience on other car models.
My manual says that the 355 was available with 2 OEM tires, PZeros and Bridge S01s, and I read consistent advice to stay with the OEM stuff in order not to upset the car balance.
Beside that, the S01s are excellent, grippy but progressive at the limit, durable even in case of occasional track use, and maybe not as bad as the Pirellis are said to be on the wet ...

Last remark: they look nice :)
Go for the Bridgestone S02's, probably my weapon of choice. Offers suprisingly more grip than S03's. You might want to check out Toyo T1's Proxes also.

Drive hard.
ERIK....CONGRATS ON THE 355 BERLINETTA

Hi Erik et al,

I have been reading your website forum over the past 6 months and have found it extremely interesting and informative. I too have come over from the other side; having owned a Porsche 911 Turbo 2 for several years I finally took the plunge six months ago and bought a 97 355 GTS in titanium. Car has 15k miles, sports exhaust and red calipers.

Impressions so far have been extremely favourable in comparison to the 911. The noise just brings a smile to my face everytime I use it (I agree with a previous comment that the GTS allows the driver to really hear the engine without sacrificing rigidity; yes it does squeak with the roof on !). The handling can not be faulted; it goes round corners at speeds that defy physics. And I still take the dust cover off when I'm in the garage for no other reason that to appreciate the looks...I'm sure other owners know what I mean.

In response to your question on tyres; I replaced all four of mine on purchase; it still had the original 4 on which were unsurprisingly cracking. The mechanic who services the car recommended P zeros and so I am happily wearing them away at every opportunity.

Well enjoy the 355 Erik and I look forward to swapping advice and experiences.

I often open the garage just to check my baby is ok. My wife jokes that I have to give it a goodnight kiss and cuddle before I go to bed.

She sometime asks me if I love the car more than her. I always tell her its not a case of loving one more than the other, it's a different KIND of love

Didn't I say this in my first reply? Guess not. Well here goes, I have to agree with EBRINK we would love to see some pictures of your car in the garage. Welcome to the forum, let us know what tyres you get and how they work for you.
OK, OK, OK, ;-) here are the first pictures!

This is from the actual inspection of the car, in other words, the moment we fell in love.... 8) .

You can see my (ex) 911 as well.

I will post better pictures later on.

Erik

BTW: The guy you see in the pictures is the Ferrari expert doing the inspection, it is not me! :D
