Restoring my 365BB I am on close to the point having the car painted.
Has anyone reliable information what paint type was used on the 365BB's? (e.g. rosso chiaro): Acrylic paint or 2K-paint with base coat in rosso chiaro and then clear claquer over it?
I think the paint was delivered by Glidden Salchi.

thanks for all information

Surely any reputable show will know this?

To put it another way - if the shop doesn't know it, don't have your car painted there.

Hi Tom,

I was trying to get cleverly out of answering you. :)

I presume that David's answer will also be valid for my two exes.

You should of course realise that current paints are not the same as the old ones, and you can in fact not get your car painted in the same lacquer as 40 years ago. But you can get the correct look.

My painters, the Rubbio family, have become my friends and their expertise is fantastic. Tito Rubbio started his career with Bertone in the late 1960's. They painted my 330GTC and my TVR Griffith and I'd recommend them.

They are painting 3 Boxers this winter, they told me when I was there last Saturday. You can send them an e-mail and they'll give you an answer.

Old article but some nice pics at the end of it: Tito Rubbio
