I tried a new way of photographing and I want to see how you think it looks. I think the new way has a more realistic look. But that may just be me.
I'll attach an old way and the new way for comparison...

Hmmm - I'm not so sure.

I think the depth of focus is now so small that you lose some of the context of the tarmac and background because they're SO out of focus.

Personally - I'd say half way between the two would be best.

Have you tried a pinhole camera? The depth of field is total with that sort of setup, so a really excellent model will be indistinguishable from a real car because its environment in the picture would contain no focus clues as to the model's size. Unfortunately, it's impossible to guess what the exposure is (who knows what the f-stop is, and how do you shutter it? Plus it requires cut film which isn't usually available at Rite -Aid). I've never heard of a digital pinhole setup but I'll bet one exists or was tried somewhere on the Net. I know that model railroad enthusiasts have used pinhole cameras to take images of their layouts with startling success.

New way shows the car better, old way shows the background better. I prefer the old way but then again, I am not that discriminating.

The Ford looks better for two reasons.

!) model looks more real
2) the blurred background makes it a little harder to tell size.

To really make it look real I suggest putting some dirk on the tires and wheels and perhaps the front bumper. Really just dust on the front lower bumper.

Other than that it is very cool looking.

That is a pretty funny little slip there!

Hey Dirk, you might want to use caution if you see Andrew behind the wheel. He might try and use you as a traction aid.
