Hey Guys I am new to this site and was just wondering, I am off for a factory visit on March 15th. Has anyone been before and is it all its cracked up to be. Thanks

Hi I am an owner. I got the factory trip through my dealer. I am staying in Maranello and will get the full factory guided tour. Apparently there are four or five Enzo's on the production line at various stages of completion and there is a museum next door. Its right next to the ferrari test track.

no i haven't been there (yet)
and untill now i can only dream of a factory visit
but don't worry it's only inside the factory itselfs that no camera's are allowed, you can take pics in the museum and from the buildings outside
and ofcourse at the fence watching the F1's test on Fiorano

Came back from factory visit yesterday! It was absolutely great!
You get to walk next the actual assembly lines (one for 360s, one for v12s+some 360s and one for the Enzos). You also get to visit a couple of other buildings within the enclosure.
You'll see many Enzos, Scagliettis and even the new Quatroportes.
No cameras allowed but you can squeeze in your MMS phone and possibly get a lowrez shot!
Musuem is a let down apart from the (few) F1 cars and engines. Fiorano looks like any other track unless you are lucky enough to see some testing (I wasn't ).

).I've been to the factory twice. The first in April 2000 was so exciting, the anticipation, the expectations... I was like a kid in a candy store. The second in June 2002 was less exciting because once you know what to expect the excitement is watered down considerably.
Don't forget to visit the Gallareia and lunch at the Cavallino. And of course shop at the Ferrari Store. Be warned, things are a little more expensive.

I visited the Factory once. Believe it was in 1997...Thought is was fantastic, but indeed the no-photographing thing sucks But then again...it also is part of the legend I think. The Factory itself is clean...very large and professional. The tour is great...you can see almost everything and get good explinations.
I don't have a F-car but I visited the Factory with the Dutch Ferrari Club...a fantastic trip with also visits to the factory of Lamborghini (you are allowed to take pictures there...) and DeTomaso (that one is more a barn than a Factory )

Future owner of a Modena F1 (blue ext, beige int, red calipers, side SF logos, expected delivery before end of March04), my first ever Ferrari.
Was lucky enough to see my actual car on the production line
and talk for a few seconds to the guy working on it. I think this beats picking up the car at the factory. Actullly, I think it beats pretty much anything except Schumi test driving your car!I totally agree with the 'kid in a candy store' comment! Also have to point out that the factory looked extremely professional and hi tech contrary to what I had heard/read. At the same time it keeps its 'soul' thanks to the hand-crafted/hand-assembled element.

My visits reflected yours--a walk along the production line, a visit to the engine dynamometer--but on one occassion, a tour of the racing department was included.

In my opinion, worth a visit, but over-hyped. Maybe the new & recent extended tours are better.

I think some of the excitement of a factory tour was born of the fact that you might have the opportunity of meeting the Old Man or running into one of the team drivers. On one occasion, I toured both the Ferrari and Maserati factories on the same day. At both locations, I was able to see new and previously undisclosed new models, but the buzz was definitely at Ferrari where the presence of Enzo loomed large.
