I'm currently 3d modeling a ferrari testarossa and am making every part that is viewable, including interior and engine. once finished it will have openable doors so all the details can be shown off. So anyways I need high resolution photo's of the engine (As many as possible) So i can make it to intricate detail and produce a stunning 3d piece.
If you own a camera/digital camera and ferrari testarossa (or can get acccess to one) I would be so greatful if you could take photo's for me so i can work from them. I have a few photo's i've found on the internet already but not enough to make a good job of the engine. I will be showcasing the finished piece here very soon. Thanks in advance

Currently it looks like

and

ps :

I am say a quarter through the projects development.

Simon,
Looks good so far, I can't wait to see the finished project.
Go to www.ferrari308.com, the owner of the site is Paul Green and he has a Testarossa also. I am sure he would send you some photos. I don't have his email address handy but you could leave a message for him in the guestbook, I know he checks that regularly.

Simon,
I wish the paint on my car looked as nice as the paint on the TR you are building.
Awesome job!

Damn I envy you. I tried to use 3D Max 4 about two years ago. Try to self teach myself and couldn't (very frustrating). For a time I wanted to work for Blizzard making CG animation for their cinematics.

The reason I mentioned Alias is because I know you can scan photos into it and make a 3D wire mesh from the photo. I watched a guy do this on an SGI O2 machine back in college for a Sony Discman ad.

Hi,

nice job building that 3D model. Very nice indeed :)
about those pics, do you have the book:

'Ferrari Testarossa' by Brian Laban? (Color Library Books Ltd, Godalming, Surrey, England, ISBN 90-366-0818-X)

A beautiful book filled with pics of the Testarossa(s), interior, engine etc etc.

hope you can do anything with this info...ciao, Waldo

Yea i am 100% self taught. I been teaching myself for about 2 years on and off..

I'll be studying computer animation at university from september (i've just gone 18). I am still working on the car, gonna do some more interior tonight, takes a long time but its worth it.

Thanks for the info on the book, i'll see if i can get hold of it as undoubtly it will help me alot. Currrently i've been making the car from photo's of it on ebay. Pity no one else has offered to take pictures of their own car yet which has meant it has been a difficult task due to lack of decent reference.

Thanks for your support

thanks for ur help, although most the images are to small to be of use considering i'm doing alot of detail.

1024 x 768 is a typical resolution i'd be after (Atleast) the higher the better,

thanks

Simon

Hey Simon,
I just happened to notice that on the #6 picture you posted on 27 May that the stallion on the front badge is mirrored.
