a friend has a 91 tr for sale. the car has 28k miles. 4-5 owners and the "slow down" light for cylinders 1-6 is always lit. car needs 30k service. any ideas as to the light problems, any bugagboos for the 91 tr to be wary of.

thanks in advance.

I would have a mechanic do a PPI on the car. The slow down light always being on isn't something that should be taken lightly. There could be some serious electrical repairs needed, or worse, engine.

As far as 1991 TRs, there aren't any major things to worry about. One thing to consider is reading the Testarossa Buyer's Guide which I plan to have released this weekend.
I would get this car throughly checked out and go through the history file. The warning light could be a number of things, some minor, some requiring a major financial commitment. Additionally the 30k service is a major and will set you back at least $3k. I would either get your friend to have the service done prior to the sale or take the cost off the purchase price.

Good luck.
