There are many days to the third to last race. My heavens! My car is not number one. Gee. The top driver is still the same. Is this not a team sport for the fans of my car?

Off to the home town crowd. Monza should be great fun.

Monza appears to favor Michelin.............again. However, there may be a cloud on Michelin's horizon. There is talk by the FIA that the Michelins are illegal. It has to do with the tire patch size after the tire is run. It seems Michelin is taking advantage of a less than clear rule concerning tire wear. This same concern was raised at Monaco.

If Michelin has to redo their tire specs prior to Monza, the race is wide open. Most competitors agree that Ferrari has the best chassis and only the tire situation has prevented another Ferrari parade.

If Michelin is found to be within the tire guidelines, Ferrari will be looking to finish in the top five. The Williams is too good right now on the Michelins, and Renault has found their horsepower. The McLaren is not as good as the Williams, but Raikonnen is very fast, and will be a factor if he qualifies well.

I fear that Ferrari will struggle with grip at Monza, but Indy and Suzuka are better suited to the Bridgestones. If nothing else, this is an exciting ending to a very good F-1 season.

FIA 4 Ferrari

Are the FIA in love with Ferrari?
Is Luca di Montezemolo working for the FIA?

Picture the scene :
Ross Brawn: Oh Michael, looks like we up against it this year, boo hoo.
Michael Schumacher: Don't cry Ross, there must be something we can kick up about!
RB: Mmmm, what about the tires that Michelin have used since 2001? Maybe we can get the FIA to CHANGE the rules to suit us with just 3 races left.
MS: Hey, great idea. We don't want to fight fairly do we.
RB: Of course we don't. We could have asked the FIA to look into this 2 years ago, but the Michelin teams weren't beating us then, so now is the time to cry. They are using the same tyre mould now as back then, but let's see what the FIA can do for us.
MS: Ross, why don't we just ask the FIA to give us the championship?
RB: Shhhh, we don't want people to suspect anything do we!!!!!!
MS: I know you can do it, after all, didn't you miraculously enable us to get away with those illegal barge boards.

Here's to F1 without the Marlboro ORANGE cars!

Daffy do you like ferrari. I don't think so.
Or it is a bad joke
'95 I loved them. Now however, nah!
I like F1 and I watch it to be entertained and this season is the closest in years, but this whole tyre controversy has turned it into a farce.
It seems that whenever Ferrari appeal about anything they win. Whenever anyone else appeals, they dont.

Ferrari have won every appeal since 1996.
McLaren have lost every appeal since 1996. :-?

Seems to me that the FIA are on Ferrari's side, so therefore I believe that F1 would be better without Ferrari. My opinion.

Daffy

if ferrari would be using illegal tyres, then you could count on it that mclaren or any other team for that mather would file a complaint, and everybody would be against ferrari because they would be using illegal tyres.
now the situation is around, and still everybody is against ferrari, but now for complaining.
Last year everybody was against ferrari because they where simply the best, they still have one of the bests chassis's this year, but not the tyres.
but nobody seems to remember the years before when ferrari was struggling and mclaren was dominating everything, nobody was complaining then

One team did complain I recall. Ferrari!!
They complained about the 3rd brake pedal - banned.
They complained about DC handing Mika the win in Melbourne. Team orders like that were subsequently banned..... unless your car is red of course.

Get your facts right first Daffy before making allegations against Ferrari.

The media and the other teams - the British teams that are ganging up on Ferrari that Ferrari has to be extra, extra careful in what it does. Ferrari did not complain on the team orders used by McLaren in Melbourne. Where on earth did you read that.

Yes they complained about McLaren's 3rd brake and why shouldn't they ? They were illegal. That's why the FIA banned them.

Why are you in a Ferrari forum, if you hate Ferrari ?

Dirk, how can you missed one of the best races of the season ? :p

Seriously, it was one of those close fights where Michael had to sweat it out to win. But what a gloriuos win in front of the home crowd. And what better way to stick it to the Williams/Michelin guys who said Ferrari/Bridgeston are sour grapes.

Michael Schumacher
« I think this is the greatest day in my career. It is a long time since I won.
I think this will turn out to be one of the best championship win for Michael.

the only reason why i will miss a race, is that i'm on the track myself (not as a driver unfortunually  )
choosing between spending a weekend on Spa Francorchamps or barelly 2 hours in front of my tv, then Spa always wins.

But i gather that it was a very exiting race without major incidents
