Maranello, 31st July – There was a nice surprise yesterday for all the Gestione Sportiva staff. At the usual celebration which follows every victory, there was a guest of honour in the shape of none other than the reigning world champion, Michael Schumacher. “I wanted to come to personally say thank you for everything you do for me,” said Michael. “Without your support I could never have achieved these results. I really thank you from the bottom of my heart!” To mark the occasion, Michael posed for a photo alongside his road and race cars: the 575 M Maranello, the Maserati Spyder and naturally, the F2002. In the evening, Michael and Corinna were invited to dinner at the home of President Montezemolo, along with Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne and their respective families.
