Here we go again! Some new memebers around, so worth a shot!

I am looking for:

Cavallino 1, 2, 7 and 9
Gli Amici della Ferrari 4-6, 9-11, 14-15, 17-18
World in Red 2
Ferrari Album 3
Italian Cars and Bikes 2
Any Prancing Horse magazine

Have several of the above magazines for trade and would consider buying others as well.

Please help :)

Hello 250lm

Sorry, can't help with the titles you are looking for.

I also like to collect Ferrari related magazines. I have a few Forza, Cavallino and Ferrari World. I also have more general titles like Car, Evo, Classic Cars, Classic and Sportscar, Top Gear and Supercar Classics.

I am interested in what is available in Europe. Do magazines such as Classique Automobiles, Klassik Auto and other titles have good Ferrari features? Can you recommend any other titles?

I am particularly interested in good photography. Do the owners club magazines from USA and Holland have good photos?

I have looked at the DaCorsa site which has some good magazine info. The Auto Prestige Ferrari Models series looks interesting, are they still available to buy?

I think you mentioned the Autonet shop in Rotterdam. Do they have a good stock of magazines? Do you know of any other shops?

Do you know if the Retromobile show in Paris is a good place to go for magazines? I've read they have autojumble stands there.

I hope you don't mind all the questions. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Don.

Hi Don,

Classique Automobiles and Klassik Auto lloks to have some nice features onces in a while. I do not collect them, so I am not totally sure, but I know what they look like...

The owners club magazines from USA and Holland have good photos, at least in my opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and therefore I can't say a full yes or no. The most fun about those magazines is the fact they all show pictures of club events you won't find elsewehere. If you are looking for 'poster' shots, you might want to have a look at World in Red or even Ferrari Story.

DaCorsa is currently under construction, since the webmaster wants to move the site to another domain and he is also restructuring the complete site. Most of the magazines shown there, I can comment on and even supply them if you want to: I then will keep an eye open for them.

The Auto Prestige Ferrari Models series are provided by Dirk (DJ Dirk on thos forum) so he can give you more info on them. I think they are widely available but since I limit myself to the Dutch and English language, I do not know all the details.

Yes, Autonet from Rotterdam is located right around the corner from me, so I will be there quite often. They have a good stock of magazines, but this depends on what customers consign there! The price of Cavallino are a bit high, but for the others it is quit okay. Any other shops: depends on what you looking for. I know quite a lot in Britain, the Netherlands and some in the US where I bought from. will supply websites if you are interested.

I have never been to the Retromobile show in Paris, so I can't comment on that either. Dirk will probably know!

Hope it helps a bit.

I just reread my story and had one little comment on Autonet:

If you are talking about new magazines: they have a lot!!!
Back issues are often available on consignment!

Hy Don Welcome to the Forum

Automobile Historique (french) is a pretty good mag IMO, but not Ferrari oriented, i don't know if that matters to you, defenitly one of the better classic mags out there, this last issue is almost completelly devoted to Ferrari.
Retro Course (french) is another classic mag with good event coverage, they even specialise in it

Auto Prestige présente Ferrari Models (french) is a good magazine wich covers everything of Ferrari and according to the cover it should be available in the UK for £4.20, if you wanna contact them mail to: [email protected]

You can buy a lot of stuff at the Retromobile, the people from Chatters and also Hortons should be there and several more.
i'm probably gonna go and then i'm stopping at Hortons

Thanks for the tips guys!

Thanks Niels, I would like the links you have for shops in Holland like Autonet.

Perhaps Dirk would know of a shop in Paris I could visit if I go to the Retromobile show?

Thanks again

Do you mean a shop at Retromobile or a shop in Paris??
there's a good one in paris, but i can't remember the name, or the street and at Retromobile just visit the boots and keep your eyes open for Gordons and second for Chaters.
They happen to be 2 british shops

Hi Dirk

Yes, I was thinking of a shop in Paris that deals in auto books and magazines. So I could check out what's on offer outside of the UK. Pity you can't remember the name!

Do you know anything about the Essen show or other shows that have good autojumble stands?

By the way, what do you like to photograph?

Hi

Thanks for the links Niels.

Dirk, the classic show at Essen sounds good, maybe I will try to go there instead of Paris. I'd also like to go to the Spa Ferrari days event. Can you get close to all the cars? Is it expensive to get in?

Does anyone have any comments about Spa Ferrari days?

Well Don

i'm going to all 3 events
first up is Retro Mobile from 7 - 16 februari, haven't decided wich day i'm going.
Then we have the Techno Classica in Essen on 10 - 13 april, i'm going on saterday. this is an amazing event, really big, it's the biggest indoor classic event i've ever been too.
But don't forget that it is in germany, that's a long distance for you.
entrance is around €10 i think

and well what can i say about the Spa Ferrari Days (25 -27 april)
Spa is probably the most beautfiull track around, with look of good spots to look.
Track entrance is free, and for the paddock you pay €17.
you can go everywhere exept the pit, that's drivers, invitation and press only.
i'll be there from friday till sunday

Yes, I know, thanks! I am already watching it. As for 1 and 2: hard to find, but if you want to pay for it it is a bit less hard to find :-( I already have a reprint number 1, so actually I only need 2 (and 7, but maybe it is going my way)
