You all might have noticed the offset shassis. This was because the Lotus 38 was built for one race, the 1965 Indianapolis 500 with its left turn oval. The Lotus 38 was the first mid-engine car and first British car to win at Indy, with Jim Clark driving. The Lotus 38 returned in 1966 to finish second at Indy.
