I am quite new to the forum and not yet owner of a Ferrari. I have been driving a MB SLK 320 for the last 6 years and have loved it. The trunk space if phenomenal for the type of car, and I will definitely miss the roof construction.

However, life must go on so my wife and I went to the local Ferrari dealer last week and drove a 355 spider with the F1 gear box. I (and my wife) was surprised and happy to see that it was easy to drive not to uncomfortable. The feeling of driving the car was beyond words and I will not try to describe the feeling and SOUND in a language I don’t fully master.

The thing to figure out now is, can live with it. Driving a Ferrari for the first time leaves you with more questions than answers really.
Will I be able to pack enough for a couple of week on the road, will we be able to bring our golf clubs (short trip to the golf club), is it comfortable enough to travel a whole day… more questions are sure to come.

We have come to a decision that we should try to find a late GTS F1 in red with not too many kilometers on the clock. And therefore it would be very interesting to hear about any story on how you solve the practical aspects of driving your Ferrari.

I think you need a BMW tourer I do now that the 360 was made to hold a set of golf clubs behind the seats laying down. As for the 355 a spider could hold them behind the seats standing up and maybe with the roof of, but not the GTS.Maybe putting them in the foot well against the seat might work, as long as you are by your self.
As far as holding clothes to last a couple of weeks, i think its possable becourse the front boot is quite large but your cloaths will have to be folded very tightly and need ironing gefore you were them :wink: Now if what you mean is a couple of days for a long weekend then yes,easly.
Travelling for a day in a355 is a breeze, its not as comphy as a SL, but i have travelled a few times across europe none stop with no problems.

There's absolutely no space behind the driver's seat, maybe for a pair of pants! :-?

If you want to put golf clubs in a Ferrari, check out the 328. There's space for a full set in a bay behind the engine.

I have checked a few pictures of the GTS now and from what I can see it is quite obvious that I wont be able to squeeze the clubs in Guess I'll just have to quit golfing or get a 360 instead. However the 360 is still out of range for me so I guess I'll just have to wait until I can arrive at the golf club in style :green:
As for the touring option, I do own one, not a BMW but an MB. Nice car to transport things in but not very fun to drive.
The 328 does not feel like an option, little to old and too much of a compromise compared to the 355. A 355 GTS F1 is the goal with or without the golf clubs

Another alternative you might want to consider is an early 550 Maranello. Prices have dropped to the point that they are less than a 360 and not much more than a F355. It has plenty of room behind the seats for clubs and a half decent trunk. The roof does not come off and F1 was not an option so you do loose out on those aspects. On the positive side it does have a great 12 cylinder engine that never runs out of power. Good luck.
