DSL is actually better. In Japan I had 24/mbps bi-directional from NTT. Our office has 156/mbps DSL and it is oh so nice. Plus there isn't a "last mile" problem anymore:

i got a 6.6 mbps cable connection and its faster and more relaible then the dsl connection i can get here
