The Camargue I've been rebuilding for the past 10 weeks is just about finished, I have the option of doing a 308 repaint, MKVI Jag body rebuild, a BMW race car or an FXX style stripe on an Enzo next - which should I do?
(TBH I'm a bit worried about taking the Enzo job on - I'm not used to moderns & I've never done a carbon job before)

Not a big fan of Rollers, but not taking anything away from your quality workmanship;)

As for your next job, can't you do all of them.
Would love to see the pics of the Enzo and 308 when you've done.

I'm not a huge fan of RR's either - but I've never done a Cam before & I'm always up for a new challenge (& it has been a challenge - bottom six inches replaced right round!)

Wish I could:D - I have a workshop big enough for one project at a time (500sq/ft), still not sure about the Enzo - really feel out of my depth even thinking about it!

Do the quickest jobs first then and keep the others sweet until you've time.

How long does it take to paint a stripe down the middle on an Enzo? Give me a can of spray and I'll do it in 10 mins for you and won't even charge:eek: :eek: :eek:

Al, solved your problem:D
I've been gloss painting the woodwork in my en-suite this evening, I reckon I can do you a straight line freehand with my 1/2 inch brush and can of Dulux.

A bit more practice on my skirting boards and I reckon I can crack it in 5 mins:D

I'm cheap too, take me for a pint in your local and we can call it quits;)

The dude who asked you to paint the white stripe on the Enzo has the confidence in your workmanship to ask you to do it (and not Archie ;) ).

I appreciate your concerns but I am guessing that they are not about the ability to paint a white stripe, but rather the technical/materials aspect of the job? I would discuss your concerns with the client and go from there.

In the meantime I would like to see some pictures of another 3x8 going through the booth so I reckon that should be you next job (what colour by the way?). Then the Jag and then the BMW...

Hey T1f, he hasn't seen my handy work yet. If he'd seen the way I've painted my skirting boards he would have asked me for def. There's only a few bits where the carpet got painted and the fluff stuck to the brush and got on the paintwork...oh and the bit where I painted over the spider and cobwebs in the corner. Apart from that, it's fine:D

Mrs A reckons I have an issue 'cos I went to the shop earlier to get aforementioned wine in my slippers, she suggested I ask them to open it & supply a brown paper bag as well:rolleyes:
So I said - you know I only do that with Special Brew:D
Yep, I've done that too, either gone to the newsagents, the chip shop or takeaway curry house in my slippers. It is wrong.

As for Special Brew, I could use that to clean my paint brushes.

Getting your thread back on track, what are your concerns with the Enzo? What are the technical difficulties you face painting carbon fibre as opposesd to painting steel/aluminium or fibre glass?

I don't think what's bothering me is the technical stuff - it's more the responsibility of having the car in - I don't think I'd be able to sleep - also I'm still waiting for my insurance company to confirm whether they'd even cover it.
I'm also not certain that this is the type of work I should be gearing towards - bear in mind guys - I'm on my own in a very small workshop - could I really cope with more modern 'supercar type' stuff coming & going every few days. Obviously there is far more money in doing this type of work, but that's not really why I do this job.
