Clutch: I'm guessing it means worn?

IF so, it can be replaced...but, if driven with bad clutch, you may certainly need to resurface the flywheel.

ALSO, that model may need a new bearing while in there, so opt for the best. I'm guessing Hill engr. of UK via either Ricambi, a sponsor on this site, or someone there more easily from Hill direct, can supply the part. My part number probably is different.

Burning a clutch is typically caused by a bad driver. Nothing more, or just worn over time which is nothing less than to be expected either.

Guessing, Mr. fayed [I'm sure he kept it in order] kept most up to date.

BE SURE TO ASK WHEN AND HOW many miles ago the last belt change was done.

Very important.

Also, post your pics and talk to the UK crowd, there are a few in here, and they are helpful.

thanks

hi
thanks for the quick reply, the father in law who picked up the car from norwich way has kept it on the trailer and will sort the clutch out for me, i told him to do a full service and a cam belt just to be on the safe side, i was wondering because the car has been sat around for nearly a year and a half whether the clutch cylinder etc would have seized or rubbers perished.

good for you. I at the minimum always re-do all the fluids, and have the innards checked. Best to start the clock with my timepiece than whomever's

when you get the chance, post some pics.

If you are near Bristol, I would send it down to Carrs in Exeter to get it sorted. They are excellent.

As it has been sitting for some time, I would carefully check everything made of rubber.

On the battery, suggest you buy a conditioner (Cteks are very good and you can order direct from Hamilton Classic) to keep it fully charged at all times.

ive just added a photo of my car , it was one i got off the advert for the car.i cropped it cos it has a hideous spoiler the previous owner put on it.its the first thing i will change, the car has had a 355 bumper fitted , it was professionally modified to fit the mondial and in my opinion looks a lot better than the original but as you all know im a novice, i will add my own photos just as soon as the clutch etc is sorted.

It's always useful to know a jeweller, I like watches myself. We've had a bit of jewellery made in the JQ in Brum in the past, a place called Elements run by a guy called Joe, really good bloke:thumbsup:
If you get any Navitimers or Mille Miglia's give me a shout.

Hi all
just an update on my mondial, chris my father in law has spent two months scrubbing , polishing, spraying , replacing etc etc my motor, he has just fitted the engine (today) and just needs to fit the new brake pads and bleed everything, the idiot who owned it before me looks as if he just used it and abused it, he says he spent 17 big ones on getting to its present state but it has cost me over 3 grand in parts just to replace the bits he broke, the clutch needed replacing and so did the flywheel as it was cracked all through, he said i should use it for a while before having any body work done as i might not like it,so hopefully next week is f day for me.
