initial impressions on my 360 spider

initial impressions of the 03 360 spider...can't come out of driveways without scraping the bottom every other time. want to kill myself every time i do it...try to hit it at an angle, slowly, but it doesn't always work.

check engine light popped on: still on in fact. know it's not the gascap; not sure what that is, but not real happy to see it.

survived all the other typical anxieties that come along with a rig like that this week: valet parking...parking in general...wife not wanting to put the top down because of her hair..etc.

so far so good.

Man In Black,
Check the recent thread on "308 Ground Clearance" for some good ideas that may help here.

You're obviously not driving fast enough! The wind should smooth out over 100mph. :green:
Have you tried reversing on to your drive rather then going in front first? I've found the clearence at the rear of my 360 slightly better then the front.. (Recomend you get your wife to check your progress as you reverse just in case!!)

You must have a very steep drive, whats the angle?

Yes, I recommend backing in the car as well. I have heard that this a common doing of Ferrari owners. Cars bottom out on my driveway and it rises at about a 20 degree angle. It really does not take much of an angle for the car to bottom out - even at 3 mph. You must not let the suspension bounce at all...give it time to adjust. Figure out the speed to enter at and then lessen that by a little just to be sure. One thing you should learn: you drive safely with certain people as passengers and you test the cars limits by your lonesome (unless you have some cool cronies). I wouldn't expect your wife to want to drive "on the edge" - if the top down qualifies as that;)
I had the same problem with front hitting the curb coming into my driveway. I could get it in w/o scraping the front only if I came in at an angle. That usually helped! But once in a while you forget! Don't worry about it. You can always repair it.
The wife thing, I don't know... My wife doesn't even want to ride with me in the 360. Enjoy it...

Cheers,

I'm getting my Stradale with 4-point harness. Wonder if my wife will ride in it.
