I am puzzled by something I have recently seen... at the website www.308qvregister.com I was going to register my (What I believe to be) 1985 308 GTS Euro QV that I purchased in FL 2004...Needless to say it had a FL Title and I have a FL Title indicating not only is it a 1985 model but that actual mileage at time of purchase (less than 7500)...
My VIN ends in 0511xx....Which would seem to coincide with a 1984 and not 1985 model based on the above website...How can this discrepency be resolved or understood???
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated...Do not know why I am bring this up except to bring it to the forums attention...
My only thought is that I believe the VIN for cars made for North America and the Middle East have an identifier as to the year of actual production...If there is no way to verify on the VIN itself the year of production for a Euro then trying to slip through a later year on the paper might make the car 'more valuable.' Once the error/lie gets acepted on a govt. document it will become the 'truth' forever...Thanks for looking and any thought you might have....
