awaiting new water hoses from Ricambi, which should be here tomorrow! I painted the air box crinkle black VHT and polished the FERRARI but left everything else black. What do you guys and gals think of that? Was the original polished off of the ribs too? I do like the way it looks now, opinions always welcome! Ciao, Dennis

The parts looks great, Dennis.

How is Ricambi for delivering to Canada? and did they ship USPS? (I know I'm tired of the gouging we Canadians take from UPS on brokerage fees, etc...)

Hey, they are great, they ship FedEx with tracking number, it only takes a couple of days, door to door, but I still have to pay the brokerage fee. Tomorrow's package valued at around $400 cost $13.58 for those fees, not bad. I speak with Daniel Pass at Ricambi, and he is very friendly and helpful. I've ordered from them 3 or 4 times already! They tried to deliver today but I wasn't home, and left a tag on my door, that's how I know the fee. Ciao, Dennis in Winnipeg

Thanks, Dennis, for the info.

Fedex is reasonable to deal with, I know that from experience. USPS (through Canada Post) charges a flat fee of $5.00 for brokerage, which is also fair. But UPS charges brokerage fees based on the cost of the shipment, and I've seen fees (not including taxes and duty) that were 50% of the value of the item!

Sounds like Ricambi is a good place to buy parts, though, I think I'll contact them for the parts I need for the major service this fall.

I'm not sure about the newer models but the 250's etc were all finished in black - letters & all! & everyone polishes the letters these days:D
I think it looks just right personally.

Hey Steve, I knew you'd chime in, heehee, how was the hike? Yes, now I will put it all back together, and hope it starts right up! That's my weekend plan, nice to work with all clean parts, and it'll look way better as well! It's still a lot of fun for me, a giant model car, some have said, as I am a model car builder! Ciao, Dennis

Hey Dennis, hiking at 12,000 feet was a lot better than putting up with Phoenix last week where it hit 116 degrees. We have to get up to Durango more often...

Have fun this weekend with the assembly, and let us know how it comes out. I, too, used to build all kinds of models, so we have something else in common.

Well, I put it all back together, but it's 11 PM, so I'll fire it up tomorrow!! Replaced all the hoses that I could, all the clamps, a few nuts and bolts, a few new gaskets, and it looks pretty good, let's hope it runs!!
