I have been trying to find out big the fuel tank is on a Formula 1 car.
During the San Marino Grand Prix there were 2 strategies, Ferrari made 3 stops and McLaren only made 2 stops. The commentators were saying that the McLaren strategy of only 2 stops would probably win them the race as long as they don't run out of fuel. So I got thinking about how much fuel they can actually carry. Anybody know? Also, what is the mpg on these cars?
Just curious. I figure that if the car is going to make 2 stops in a 190 mile race and he starts with a full tank and gets 3 mpg (Just a wild guess on the mileage) he will need a 20 gallon tank.
