1. Proof - red paint is required to go fast. :green:
2. I'm amazed that the Enzo cleans up in ALL categories! I would have expected in this sort of company that different max-power, torque-spread & gearing specs would have seen the fastest top speed car being slower off the mark, & vice versa. Take a big bow, Ferrari.

Great to see that the cream rise to the top!!

Can we say it smoked the competition. The Porsche was close to 200km but then got smashed!

Of course this is just a strait line so I'm not sure it matters too much.

Nardo is the only a long circular track where top speeds can be tested. For top speed the power and aerodynamics of the car matters. And it all showed here with the Enzo. On a race track things may be different but it may be the same. The only competition that the Enzo will have is the Carrera GT. The others can just smell it's exhaust.

i wouldn't be certain of that
2 weeks ago Top Gear tested the SLR on their track and it destroyed the Zonda, Murcielago & Koenigsegg.
last week they had a 360 CS & Porsche GT3RS showdown, and they came in 2 sec. behind the SLR, but before the zonda & co
this week they will be having the CGT on their track and then it's waiting till they get their hands on an Enzo

The SLR should not be compared to the CS or the GT3. They're in different categories in terms of engine capacity and price. It's in the senior class and should be compared to the 6-litre brigades.

it isn't really compared with them
they just put all the track times on a board and at the moment the SLR is the new king, beated the murcielago hard, and then the week after it, both the 360 CS & GT3RS also beat the murcie, but still about 2sec. slower then the SLR

You are right !

Here are the tracktimes of the cars:

Ferrari Enzo Ferrari: 54,98
Lamborghini Murciélago: 55,82
Mercedes SLR Mc Laren: 57,45

Sport-Auto made a similar test in Nardo in the July 2002 issue, but they just reported the top speed:
Edonis: 359.6
Ruf R Turbo: 343.1
Murcielago: 334.3
Ferrari 575M: 325.7
Porsche 911GT2: 320.4

Not sure though that such top speeds have any relevance to driving pleasure.

I'd like to see the comparative acceleration figures for the McLaren F1 - does anyone have them?
