and just incase anyone is wondering. i work full time. am not rich. and bought my car and bikes myself with the money i make. the 308 it a father&son toy. over on the hayabusa board i belong to, if you are some young guy who had your bike bought for you by your mommy or daddy you are not welcomed. i would just like to make that point here also. i work hard and spend my money on the things i like most.

Well, it is like you said, you work to earn some of that green paper stuff and trade it for shiney things.

You needn't have worried though. You will find that the people here are very accepting no matter who you are, how old you are, or where your money comes from. We are all here because we love Ferrari's. I work hard for my money too. I wish I had been born rich instead of good looking. :D

It is funny, when I got my Ferrari, the guys at work were like "Well, I guess we know who makes all the money around here." These are guys who are all driving around in $40k pick-up trucks and it seems like they all have these flashy bass boats. One guy has a $25k Harley-Davidson. I think it is just the image of Ferrari's being ultra expensive. None of them know that you can pick up a 308 for less than $30k. I just smile and have the knowledge that I paid about half for my Ferrari than what they paid for their pick-up truck and right now they are both worth about the same.

its funny you say that pete. my boss is into chevy power and bikes. he just baught a 66' stingray with a 427ci motor from a guy who had died and wanted my boss to buy it. and last year he finished a resto project that took 5 years. he had a 67' camero built for his wife. the thing is it had a complete 00' corvette driveline. motor,6 speed, rear end, and 4 corner independent suspension. full leather interior. etc. i saw the file he kept at work with all the billings for the car and it totaled out at just short of 200k. think is she wont drive it at all. cause she doen not want to catch flack at work. my thought is people spend money on what they want. some people like to travel and some like cars. never be ashamed of what you have.

It is funny about that '67 Camaro because it would be worth more if he had done an all original restoration than spending ultra big bucks on "bastardizing" it. No Camaro enthusiast will ever touch that car. But like you said, hey, if that's how he wants to spend his money then go for it. I've got about 18k "invested" in a Jeep that will never be worth more than 7k. But I have had at least 10k worth of fun with it so I am still coming out ahead. (by my reckoning, you have to justify it somehow.) At least I know where my money is going and why. When I look at Jeep modifications I say "This part costs $1,000, will it give me $1,000 worth of enjoyment?" Take the ignition upgrade I am doing to the Ferrari. Will the $500 spent make the car worth $500 more? Maybe, maybe not. Will I get $500 worth of enjoyment out of it? Yes!

And, no, I will never be ashamed of what I have. Like you, I work hard for my money and buy things that please me. When I was a kid I built a model of a 308 and dreamed about having a car like that. Then Thomas Magnum had my car! Now I have one too! I am estatic!

well the RX-7 is nothing to smerk at. she'll run low 12s on street tires and high 11s on a set of mickey's. i am a huge fan of rotary power. i have 8k in the motor/turbo combo alone. not as flashy as the 308 but it will put the hurt on alot of street cars on the road. if i want to rip on some vipers or twin turbo porsche's i have the hayabusa for that. did a gps'ed 197 on her before i felt i was running out of road. if i gear her down a tooth she should pull 200 easy.

ya, i have had the stock turbo upgraded to produce 18 psi. the motor has been warmed over alot. porting, balanceing, blablabla. just about everything has been touched. but to keep the sleeper look the body and interior is stock. a few more shots. i have added more junk since these shots were taken. a strut bar, new turbo xs blow off valve, and a few other things. i am on teamfc3s.org as rotarydevil.

nice 10th ann. i saw one last night that was in perfect shape. i see you have yours apart. what are you doing to it?
