I am posting this here as the system on the F40 is very similar to the one on the 3X8 and Mondials:

Vulcan F40 is having an issue with the pop up headlights on his F40. Only one of the two would raise when he attempted to turn them on. The issue seems to have been solved temporarily by jiggling the headlight column on the steering wheel. Any idea what would have casued this and how to make sure the issue is permenantly resolved ???

Dear Comrade's Boxer and Vulcan F-40,
Unfortunately I cannot offer any practical advice.

However, under our R.A.P.E guise, you are well aware that Pete and I specialise in repairing F40's with pop up light problems. A very hard whack with a 14 lb hammer is my prescribed remedy for the problem.
A rough estimate for labour and materials will be 6 hours @ £250 P/H, parts approx £25 (for the hammer), plus the dreaded VAT. A round £5K will do very nicely;)

Dearest Comrade archiegibbs,

This is indeed a most excellent offer. However, and for the present, I shall put the decision into abeyance as the mechanism is now working perfectly satisfactorily. But, should the problem again manifest itself I shall of course be immediately in touch.

With kind regards,

Vulcan F-40

Dear comrade Vulcan F-40,
If you ever require any work doing to your wonderful collection of automobiles, R.A.P.E will be more than happy to assist. Paintwork is our speciality, and we have developed a unique technique for painting FXX and Challenge Stradale style stripes on a whole manner of Ferrari's, using only a 6 inch roller, a can of Dulux non drip gloss and a step ladder.
If you use the search function on the site and type in "Royal Arch & Pete Enterprises", you will find many examples of our craftsmanship. Should you require them, Pete and I have forged many references.....err, sorry, I meant we have glowing references from dozens of satisfied clients:)
Best regards
Archie

The usual problem with 308's is the connector block just below the headlamp assembly (the main connection to the operating motor). I can't say about Mr Vulcan F40 Sir's particular problem, but the 308 doesn't have independant (i.e side exclusive) wiring at the steering column - so a problem at that point would normally affect both headlamps.
Hope this might help?????
Oh & welcome Mr Vulcan F40 Sir:) :)

Dearest Comrade alsaautomotive,

Thank you for your kind interest and advice.

At present they are both operating perfectly fine. But, I shall separate the connections and then reconnect giving them a gentle wiggle thus to clear any debris that may have caused the problem.

Many thanks.

With kind regards,

Vulcan F-40
