Hi folks,
I have a '83 308GTS QV with about 39K miles and not driven very much over the last few years. Took it out recently and noticed that the dash light with "Slow Down Cyl. 5-8" starts to flash intermittently after about 10 minutes of driving. It goes off when car is not moving. The other warning light (for Cyl 1-4 is not coming on). The engine and oil temperature seem to be normal (i.e. not overheating).

Any advice on what might be the problem would be appreciated. The car seems to be running okay.

Also, what are your recommendations for brand and model of spark plugs? The old Champions/NGK are no longer available.

Thanks,

Over heating cylinders

I had this on my 308 twice once was a cooling duct over the manifold but the other was found that we had water after an engine wash in a spark plug hole, we removed all plugs and clean gave a good wash with spray oil and all was good now. Recomend you check all leads and ducting.
