I am looking at a 348 Spider tomorrow and from past experience and after studying the VIN decoder at http://www.ferrariclub.com/faq/vin.html I was expecting the VIN to start off ZFFKA43C (UK supplied car) but according to the chap selling it, it starts with ZFFUA43C.
When I looked at the VIN decoder, the "U" apparently refers to "308 4-valve U.S.A. 1984-1985".
Could it be that Ferrari reused the letter "U" or maybe the vendor has made a mistake?
For a 348 the only three possible letters should be "K - 348 European", "F - 348 U.S.A. / Japan" or "R = 348 U.S.A."
Can anyone shed any light on this please? (I'm off to see it at 7am Saturday so a speedy answer would be very helpful thanks guys!)
Regards, Justyn. (Keeping my fingers crossed it is a nice car)
