I am selling my 2000 Carerra Cabriolet and want a 348. I like the 328 but have heard that it is cramped and I am 6'2. I drove a 348 one time a few years back and fit very well. My price range puts me in a 1990-1992 model. I want a red coupe or targe.

Is there any major differences within these years that I should watch out for? Any cars in this range that I should shy away from? I am looking for something with 20-40K miles with a good service history.

I am having trouble finding many for sale....any suggestions on web sites to check?

THANK YOU all in advance. This site has been very helpful to me!

Don,

Welcome to the site. I hope we can assist you in this purchase. The 348 began in 1989 and the only real problem with 348s have been their electrical system. From 90-92 there are really no major changes to the car. If you can strech it I would even recommend looking into the GTB/GTS models.

There are a few for sale in our classified section you may want to inquire about. Welcome to the site and best of luck on finding your car.

Get on the Ferrari List. www.ferrarilist.com There's a guy named Claude that's done a good job of hunting down good cars at low prices. There are also a number of Dealer on the list as well. Very spirited discussions on the cars with no holds bared.

I love the 348 styling. I actually like it better than the 355. But the 355 is a much better car. If you have real concerns you might think about putting off the purchase untill you can get one or a later model 348. I'd mention the 328 but due to your stature it is certainly ruled out.

Chances are due to the age of the car you're looking at most problems have already been addressed. I'd say you'd be better off with a slightly higher mileage car. In other words one that's been driven consistently. The more it's driven the more chance that a problem would occur and get fixed. As long as it's been cared for properly you should be ok. Books and records. That's what you're looking for.
