I recently received my Ford Gt which finally arrived. I have too say why does every ferrari owner flame me for having this car. I test drove the modena and the challeng stradale and it blew these cars away. I know its a ford but how many have driven one. I love ferrari but they simply did not light my fire the same way. The enzos far out of my price league so dont even bring it up. I had a modena ride up my ass the other day and I left him like he was going in reverse, grow up you tools :D

It is no secret this is what the GT was made for. It is an awesome car and if you look in the lounge section you'll see everyone here praised the car. It will be interesting to see how the GT stacks up against the F430. It [GT] does beat the 360 but I think the F430 will take back the title (if there ever was one).

Welcome to the site, I'm sure I speak for everyone we I say we'd love to see photos in the garage section. You have a rare car indeed.

Enjoy your GT. Most of us here are car enthusiasts so we do appreciate other sports cars as well. I've owned Ferrari and Porsche at th same time and to me each has its own virtues and vices. But I enjoy them both. Just like I would the GT40.

there's no replacement for displacement?

Lol.

GT40's are blunt force instruments. It savages its way through with it's monstrous engine and aircraft carrier torque.

Ferrari's are more akin to a Freddy Krueger's armpiece. Sharper, more agile, and has more character.

But both do one thing in common.

If you hit it hard enough, you will, be seeing stars/red.

The Ford GT40....

Lets just take a moment and put a few cars inline with the Ford GT, and compare a few attributes. The Ford GT isn't a bad looking car, better looking in person, but its beauty is similar to the beaty of the F40... The F40 is a lovely thing to look at, but all in all, its no 355. We all do forget one thing, and that is that Ferrari haven't the obligation to produce a performer. For instance, look at the 612 Scaglietti.... Not extremely quick, yet still a big block V12. Ferrari initially produced it to have a luxurious GT in the market. You put that Scaglietti with a DB9 and it will most probably get beaten. Ferrari is all about the principle and accomplishment reached. You buy the Ford GT, sure it is a better performer all-round, but who would appreciate more than a Ferrari? Yes, there will be those who would like to see Ferrari at the bottum just because they produce expensive material, but those individuals obviously dont understand Ferrari as a manufacture. Lets take a F430 a Lambo Gallardo and a Ford GT. The F430 has a Ferrari V8, lovely sharp edges (to some) and as glamourous as you can get as far as these 3 are concerned. The Gallardo has the retrofied look to it, powered by a V10 outrunning the 360 and being just as quick as the 996 Turbo. The Gallardo holds a unique stance but has less sophostication than the Ferrari. The Ford GT...An American supercar, flashy retro looks, good V8 growl and lots of power in every form. When you get the Ferrari or Lambo, you are almost paying for the name and glamour that comes with the package. This is the same case with the Enzo vs the CarreraGT: Ferrari happens to be just as quick if not quicker, but is priced much, much higher. People fail to understand what the Enzo is, and its not just any Ferrari or supercar. Porsche had to throw in all that technology to give something to show on behaf of the CGt, while Ferrari can be there providing less tech, and selling for over double the price. You are clearly paying for more than just the car there, and that applies with all current Ferrari which hit the popular magazine covers.

But the Ford GT is a stunning buy and very good value...
congrats

I read ove rmy first post and Im apologize for the last line I didnt mean ferrari owners are tools I was directing it at the idiots who rid eon my ass no matter what they own and it came accross like I was flaming a ferrari. The new f 430 looks sweet and may indeed take the crown from the ford gt and yes there are some much better looking cars than the gt, especially in the interior department. Im happy with my purchase and enjoy all performance cars, the ferrari is more akin to precison while the gt as I have to admit while it handles well is a bit more raw. I suppose it depends on your mood

To me it all boils down to this...who is comparing what to what the most?
C6 Corvette vs. 360 Modena
Ford GT vs. 360 Modena
Lamborghini Gallardo vs. 360 Modena
and so on.

See the common theme? The 360 is obviouly a benchmark in and of itself and there is a lot to be said for that fact.

I will be the first to say that all of these cars are very nice in their own way, and I would be thrilled at the oppertunity to own any of them. (However I could not fit comfortably in the Gallardo.) Each one is a beast and each one deserves the recognition it gets. But, in the long run...the Ferrari is still the king. Looks + Performance + Heritage = going the distance. Of course all of this is subject to ones own tastes, but this statement is based on my opinion.

On a side note...I may be able to go see a Ford GT in person sometime this week. All depends on my schedule and if it is still there.

Most Ferrari-owners do not buy the car only for it's performance but also for the reason that it is a Ferrari. And I think the 360 is more usable for normal day driving. Best example it that you can;t get in the GT40 when an other car is parked next to it. Yes you can open the door, but you can't get in due to the roof that is integrated in the door. Buy the car you want, not the one somebody else would buy ;)
