I Just wanted to say hi to every Ferrari enthusiast out there.
I currently do not own a Ferrari--I hope that's OK. My dream Ferrari is a 512 TR. Anyways, my question is: What are the pros and cons of buying a European conversion vs. a U.S. model (i.e. 360 Modena)--assumming you're in the U.S.???

I'm sure you'll get plenty of pros and cons on euros vs. us spec 360's. Especially after all the mess that occured earlier this year with the Us dealers refusing to work on euro specs......anyways welcome :wink:

Bart, as far as i can figure out, there is a difference cuz of the strict laws in the US, mostly resorting in a bit of HP los and a bit heavyer

The case was actually taken to court. There was a fuss about Euro spec cars not being covered on US warranties. So the dealers were not honoring euro specs. I think that it was finally ruled that they had to work on those cars, under warranty. FOA was involved, it got kinda messy.

But how do the euro spec cars get in the States??
i don't think that they are brought over by the dealers.
and importing a car is i believe pretty expensive

Grey imports are quit common. It is not a matter of money I assume. If you want to have a second-hand exotic, you can't buy it as easy as a second-hand Astra. It might not be available in your own country or you might want to have that special one. Most of the time a Eurospec car looks better, but a US-spec F40 is way cool with those little indicators at the front side.

Euro specs make it into the states because of demand. Some people don't want to wait 2-3 years for their car, so they have them brought over.
