'05 Ferrari 420 Modena
Not content to see the Lamborghini Gallardo outperform the 360 Modena, Ferrari is upping the displacement and horsepower of its V-8 mid engine entry. Instead of adding two cylinders, the 3.6-liter V-8 grows to 4.2 liters, bumping output yo 420 bhp. In addition to the increased power, the car will receive front- and rear-end make-overs that echo the styling of the Enzo supercar, including stacked instead of horizontal headlamps and a deployable rear spoiler.
While early rumors suggested the car would be called the 420 Modena or 420 Monza, word comes that Ferrari has taken out the trademark of F430 in some key markets. The name would mirror the optimistic rating of the 612 Scaglietti (the 6 standing for liters when in reality the engine is closer to 5.8). The more powerful and redisigned Modena is slated for and early 2005 launch either at the Detroit or Geneva show.
