Seems like Ferrari will be busy with the supply of engines for A1 and F1 this year :steeringwheel: Just read this article now :
Ferrari has confirmed it would be willing to supply engines to the stricken Honda Racing team if it is able to find a buyer.
Honda put its Brackley-based squad up for sale last month after it announced it would be pulling out of Formula 1 with immediate effect.
One of the main question marks for potential backers has been the source of engines, as the Japanese built Honda units will no longer be available to the team in 2009.
However, Honda Racing boss Ross Brawn told Italain newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday that his former employers Ferrari would be able to supply his team with engines next year.
Although nothing has been signed, a Ferrari spokesperson confirmed that the Italian team would be prepared to sign a customer engine deal with Honda if necessary.
"They [Honda Racing's management] have asked us if we are able to provide engines and we said yes," the spokesman told Reuters.
"That's it, nothing more."
Ferrari supplied Toro Rosso and Force India with its V8 in 2008 and, with the latter having signed a deal to run Mercedes power units next season, Maranello has the capacity to take on another engine deal.
Brawn warned it would take six weeks to adapt his team’s RA109 chassis to a new engine and as a result any pre-season testing time would be limited.
However, the Englishman maintained that he was still “very optimistic” Honda would make it to the grid for the season opener in Mebourne in March, with the team having revealed it has received interest from several potential buyers.
