Ferrari has today announced what can only be described as a major change in their strategy.

With current massive over production in the car industry Fiat, Ferrari’s parent organisation, have forced Ferrari to look at their current model line up with a radical eye on the future and future profitability.

Ferrari, with immediate effect, will stop the production of the 612 model range, putting all of the production capacity this frees into running out the existing forward orders of their 360 range. The 360 model range will also be trimmed to include only the 360 Spider and the 360 Challenge Stradale, with all models only being available with Ferrari’s racing derived F1 gearbox.

Production of the 360 replacement, the 420 Monza, has also been announced with first shipments due before the end of 2004. This way Ferrari hopes to pump up the vloumes even more, so more profits can be made.

A dealer I visited today told me. It is not supposed to leak out etc, but he said that most dealers didn't like it, and that it would break the news soon anyway.

...they want to change the way the clubs are organised... ...leaving only space for the select group of rich *

...Almost every Ferrari related site (including Ferrari's homepage) are only for the people who want to pay... ...I DON'T!!!

...Ferrari's is trowing it's futhere away by comerce... ...whitout looking at the long termes...!

Are you sure this isn't just some gossip? Cuz I don't get it, Ferrari is more than a normal factory, it's a legend, so they're not gonna do this for some more profit, right?

Not happy with this (if they're gonna do this) :(

Or is this a 1 april prank?

made.
It does make sense to trim 360 model line up, but I am not sure if getting rid of 612 is going to help them. The car hasn't even launched yet. You would think Ferrari pull the plug before spending 100's millions of dollars in R&D and not when the car is ready to be delivered to customers. Time will tell, I am very sckeptic of this news!

Cheers,

Lol! Bob, this is one of those things that you just don't want to believe, but you feel must be true coming from such a credible source. Now I guess I can't trust you anymore...just kidding. I guess you get the last laugh.
